Xiaomi’s electric-vehicle business has reached substantial scale in mainland China, but that growth does not tell an individual buyer when a car will arrive or whether service is available nearby. Xiaomi reported 185,055 vehicle deliveries in the first half of 2026, while its September announcement said deliveries exceeded 40,000 for that month. Neither figure is a live estimate for a particular model, trim, city or order. The clearest overseas evidence points to a planned European entry in 2027, not current European sales or an established service network.
For buyers, the practical questions are narrower: where Xiaomi officially sells the car, what the current estimate says for the exact configuration, and who can repair it after delivery. The available evidence gives useful context on each question, but it does not establish current order waits or service coverage in every market.

What Xiaomi’s delivery growth does—and does not—tell buyers
Xiaomi’s 2026 Interim Report says the company delivered 185,055 vehicles in the first half of 2026, a 17.7% increase year over year. Xiaomi also reported more than 40,000 deliveries in September 2026; the announcement, reported by CnEVPost on October 1, did not give an exact total or a model-by-model breakdown. These figures show that Xiaomi is operating at meaningful volume in mainland China. They are not a promise about the date of a new order.
A company-wide total combines cars that may differ by model, trim, production timing and customer location. It also counts vehicles already delivered, not the number of orders waiting ahead of a new buyer. A high monthly total may coexist with a long wait for a popular configuration, while a different trim or an available in-stock vehicle may be ready sooner. Without model-specific order and inventory information, deliveries cannot be converted into a personal estimate.

The context is notable: Xiaomi’s interim report cited a 20% year-over-year decline in mainland China passenger-vehicle retail volume in the first half of 2026, attributing that comparison to the China Passenger Car Association. Xiaomi’s own delivery growth therefore occurred against a weaker market backdrop, but the contrast still does not indicate how quickly any particular car can be built or handed over.
Xiaomi Auto announced a full-year 2026 delivery target of 550,000 vehicles. A target is a business objective, not a production guarantee or a buyer-facing delivery commitment. It should not be used to infer an order’s place in the queue, and actual timing still depends on the live estimate for the chosen car.
How to read a Xiaomi EV delivery-time estimate
The most useful delivery estimate is the one tied to the buyer’s exact configuration and order. Estimates can change as production and inventory shift, and a number without a date is incomplete. The freshest model-and-trim snapshot in the reviewed reporting was published by CarNewsChina on May 13, 2026, citing Xiaomi’s ordering platform. It covered the YU7, not all Xiaomi EVs, and it is now historical rather than a current October 2026 estimate.

The May 2026 report also said some in-stock cars could be handed over the same day. That describes a possible inventory case at that time, not a standing availability promise. Ask whether a car is actually in stock and allocated for sale, and confirm the handover conditions directly before relying on a short timetable.

Why older wait figures should not be treated as a forecast
YU7 estimates were much longer during the model’s launch period. CnEVPost monitored Xiaomi EV app estimates on July 6, 2025, reporting 59–62 weeks for Standard, 53–56 weeks for Pro and 45–48 weeks for Max. The contrast with the May 2026 snapshot shows how sharply estimates can move over time. It does not establish what a buyer would wait today: the two reports describe different dates, and neither provides an October 2026 estimate.
There is no comparable current SU7 wait figure established in the available reporting. Do not transfer the YU7 estimates to an SU7, or assume that an older estimate for either model remains valid. Xiaomi’s interim report also discusses the discontinuation of first-generation SU7 sales; buyers should verify which version and configuration are currently orderable rather than assume a prior listing remains available.
Where can you buy a Xiaomi electric car?
The evidence reviewed establishes substantial deliveries in mainland China and a planned European expansion; it does not document a current, comprehensive international sales map. Buyers outside mainland China should therefore verify that Xiaomi officially sells the specific car in their country, rather than infer availability from the company’s overall delivery numbers or online listings.
For Europe, CnEVPost reported on September 3, 2026, that Xiaomi Auto had signed preliminary memoranda of understanding with eight German dealer groups as an early step toward a retail and service network. Xiaomi’s planned European entry is in 2027. The report did not specify the European models, local prices, launch or delivery dates, number of stores, territories or final partnership terms. Preliminary dealer agreements do not mean that a buyer can order a Xiaomi EV in Germany or receive official support there today.

Before treating a car as locally available, check whether the seller is an authorized local channel and whether the vehicle is intended for that market. Ask for written confirmation of order eligibility, the applicable delivery estimate and the service arrangements. A vehicle advertised for import is not, by that fact alone, evidence of an official retail or repair network in the buyer’s country.

Xiaomi’s 2026 Interim Report says revenue from after-sales services related to its smart EV business increased in the first half of 2026. That is evidence that the business is generating more after-sales activity, but it is not a measure of how easy it is for an owner to book a repair. The report does not establish current service-center counts, repair turnaround times, warranty terms or parts availability for a particular city.
One concrete service-related event was a recall announced by China’s State Administration for Market Regulation on September 19, 2025. It covered 116,887 specified SU7 Standard vehicles manufactured between February 6, 2024 and August 30, 2025. The regulator’s notice said Xiaomi would address the stated risk with a free over-the-air software upgrade. This describes a specific recall population and remedy; it is not a finding about every SU7, a measure of overall service quality or proof that every repair can be handled remotely.

Before paying a deposit, ask who handles warranty claims, where the nearest operating service site is, which repairs it performs, how parts are sourced, and what happens if a repair requires the car to be transported. If the vehicle is imported or sold outside an officially supported market, ask specifically which local party is responsible for software, parts, warranty work and recalls. The available evidence does not answer those market-specific questions.

A buyer’s checklist for checking availability and support
Use this checklist when evaluating an offer. Keep the estimate, seller’s answers and date in writing; the date matters because availability and service arrangements can change.
- Confirm the market. Ask whether the exact model is officially sold in your country or region, and identify the authorized seller. Do not treat a planned market entry or an import listing as current official availability.
- Pin down the vehicle. Record the model, trim and configuration on the order. A delivery estimate for one trim is not a reliable estimate for another.
- Get a dated delivery estimate. Ask when the estimate was generated, whether it is the company’s live estimate or a seller’s estimate, and whether it is a range or a committed handover date.
- Clarify stock versus factory order. For a claimed in-stock car, confirm that the specific vehicle is available and what steps remain before handover. For a factory order, ask when the estimate will be refreshed and what could change it.
- Check the local service route. Obtain the address and operating status of the service location that would handle your car. Confirm that it accepts the specific model and performs the types of work you may need.
- Ask about warranty, parts and repair logistics. Get the applicable written terms, ask how parts delays are handled, and establish whether transport is required for work that cannot be done locally.
- Save the documents. Keep the order date, estimate, seller identity, warranty information and support contacts together. These let you distinguish a changed estimate from the terms initially given.
Resale figures provide context, not a guarantee
Xiaomi’s interim report cited the July 2026 China Vehicle Value Retention Ratio Research Report from the China Automobile Dealers Association and Jingzhengu. It said the YU7 Series had an 82.8% one-year value-retention ratio and ranked first among major pure-electric vehicles; the SU7 Series had a 75.3% ratio and ranked fourth. These are reported one-year figures for the Chinese market, not a promise of what a particular car will sell for later.
Resale value depends on the vehicle, market conditions and the timing and terms of a future sale. A China-based retention ranking does not establish a used-car value in another country, where official distribution and service support may differ. Treat the figures as reported context rather than a reason to assume a guaranteed ownership cost.
