What the 2026 CMX500 recall covers

What to do if your VIN has no open recall
A clear result means the lookup did not identify an open recall for that VIN in the records it searched; it is not proof that no campaign can ever apply. If you are checking shortly after a recall announcement, search again later or contact Honda or a dealer. If the lookup indicates the recall is already complete, retain the dealer’s repair paperwork because completed recalls may not appear in NHTSA’s VIN results.
NHTSA’s search has other limits: it may not show some campaigns more than 15 years old unless broader coverage is provided, non-safety campaigns, or recalls outside the United States. It also cannot establish the status of a non-U.S. vehicle through the U.S. recall records. A recently announced campaign can be another reason to verify a clean search with Honda or a dealer, especially if you have received a notice.
