The Manthey Kit for the 992.2 Porsche 911 GT3 is a track-focused package that changes the car’s aerodynamics, suspension and brake hardware. Its headline figure is 540 kg of manufacturer-reported downforce at 285 km/h in circuit mode; the kit also has a road-mode configuration, but circuit mode is not for public roads. Porsche’s Nürburgring result is a comparison with the preceding kit-equipped GT3, not a measurement of the kit’s gain over a stock 992.2.
What the Manthey Kit is—and which GT3 it fits
This is the Manthey package for the Porsche 911 GT3 Type 992.2, developed with Porsche and sold through Porsche Centres. It should not be confused with the earlier 992.1 GT3 kit or packages for the GT3 RS and GT2 RS. Manthey describes the components as precisely matched and recommends fitting the package as a complete system; certain individual components are also available separately as options.

That system approach matters because the kit is not simply a larger wing or a suspension swap. Its aerodynamic parts work together with revised spring rates and track-oriented setup. A buyer weighing it against a stock 992.2 should therefore consider the package as a coordinated change, rather than assume that fitting one visible component will reproduce the complete kit’s effect. The system framing also matters when interpreting the published downforce figures: they refer to the kit’s specified configurations, not to a standalone wing or a custom mix of parts.

| Suspension | Four-way coilover system with tool-free rebound and compression adjustment; spring rates adapted to added downforce | Core kit; spring-rate comparisons depend on the reference setup |
| Brakes | Braided steel brake lines | Included; special racing pads for Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) are an option |
| Wheels | Optional forged set, 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear | Porsche reports 6 kg less unsprung mass than with standard wheels |
Aerodynamics: more load, with two configurations
Porsche says the package makes more of the underside a continuous aerodynamic element. The changes include turning vanes extended to 1.5 metres, a cover that smooths the underbody, a front lip extended by 12 mm, front diffuser fins and side flaps. At the back, the kit uses a wider swan-neck wing with a Gurney flap and revised end plates, longer rear-diffuser fins, and carbon-fibre aerodiscs intended to reduce drag. Porsche’s stated aim is to increase downforce without increasing drag.

The headline numbers depend on both speed and mode. Porsche reports 355 kg of total downforce at 285 km/h in road mode and 540 kg at the same speed in circuit mode. Manthey’s product information also lists 540 kg at 285 km/h for the kit. These are manufacturer figures at one stated speed—not fixed loads available at every speed, and not a direct measure of lap-time improvement. The circuit-mode setup must not be used on public roads.
The mode distinction is central to a fair comparison. Quoting 540 kg without naming circuit mode can make the number sound like an everyday road setting, while comparing it with another car’s figure at a different speed or in a different configuration is not like-for-like. Porsche’s stated 355 kg road-mode figure is also specific to 285 km/h; the available figures do not establish how much downforce either configuration produces at lower speeds.
Suspension: adjustable for circuit setup
The kit includes special four-way coilover suspension developed with Manthey for circuit use. Drivers can adjust rebound and compression without tools. Porsche says the springs were adapted to account for the additional aerodynamic load; it reports front spring rates 10% higher than those of the previous-generation Manthey kit.
Recommended Free Tools
That 10% comparison is with the earlier Manthey package, not necessarily with the standard 992.2 GT3 suspension. Manthey publishes separate 992.2 front- and rear-spring-rate changes, but any quoted figures need to be tied to the reference configuration specified in its product information. The useful practical point is that this is an adjustable, track-oriented suspension package, not a claim that every driver or circuit should use one universal setting.
Tool-free adjustment means the rebound and compression settings can be changed without tools; it does not mean there is one correct setup for every track. The kit’s higher spring rates and added aero load are linked in Porsche’s description, so setup should be considered as part of the package rather than judged from stiffness alone. Buyers who expect to use the adjustment range should ask the Porsche Centre or installer how the delivered setup is configured and what guidance applies to their intended circuit use.
Brakes and wheel options
Braided steel brake lines are included. Porsche lists special racing pads for cars equipped with PCCB as an option. Porsche and Manthey position these brake changes for track-day demands and a more direct pedal feel, but their published material does not provide controlled stopping-distance or brake-fade results. It would therefore be misleading to attach a percentage, distance or lap-time gain to the brake hardware.
The optional forged wheels measure 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear. Porsche says the set reduces unsprung mass by 6 kg compared with standard wheels. That figure concerns the wheel set against that stated reference; it is not a claim about total vehicle weight or a guarantee of a particular handling improvement. The forged wheels and PCCB racing pads are options rather than reasons to assume every kit-equipped car has them. When comparing prices or cars, confirm which options are actually included.
What Porsche’s Nürburgring time does—and does not—show
Porsche reports that Ayhancan Güven drove a 992.2 GT3 with the Manthey Kit around the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 6:52.981 in 2025. Porsche describes the conditions as less than ideal and says a notary certified the time. It reports the lap was 2.76 seconds quicker than the preceding 992.1 GT3 with its Manthey Kit. Both cars used optional Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tyres.

This is a manufacturer-reported, generation-to-generation comparison between two kit-equipped cars. It does not isolate what the 992.2 kit adds over a stock 992.2, and it should not be presented as a stock-versus-kit result. The optional tyre fitment and the stated conditions also matter when using the lap as a reference: an owner should not expect the same time, or the same difference, on different tyres, a different circuit or in different conditions.
As published by Porsche, Güven said: “With the Manthey Kit, the 911 GT3 has once again become noticeably better in corners on the circuit.” Porsche also quoted him saying the added downforce and optimized suspension make the car easier to control and give the driver more confidence. Those are the driver’s impressions, not controlled measurements of braking or lap-time improvement over a standard car.
For a buyer, the lap is evidence of a manufacturer-run package in a specific setting, not a promise of a result for every owner. A meaningful personal comparison would use the same GT3 generation, tyre type, circuit and conditions, and would identify whether the aero is in road or circuit mode. The reported 2.76-second difference compares the two Manthey-equipped generations, so it cannot answer by itself whether the 992.2 kit is worth its price over the standard 992.2.

Porsche says the factory warranty for the 911 GT3 remains intact, while Manthey says road approval and warranty remain unchanged. These are manufacturer claims, and their application can depend on the vehicle and market. Confirm the applicable warranty terms and road-approval status with a Porsche Centre before ordering or fitting the kit.
The kit’s road-mode aerodynamic configuration is distinct from circuit mode. Porsche expressly says circuit mode is not for public roads, so a driver should not treat the two setups as interchangeable simply because the car itself is road registered. Ask the dealer which configuration is approved for the intended use and how the changeover is handled for the specific vehicle.
Road approval and warranty are separate questions from whether a given aerodynamic setup is permitted on the street. The manufacturer statements do not replace confirmation of local terms, vehicle-specific fitment or the rules in the owner’s market. If the car will be driven both on roads and circuits, clarify the approved road configuration and the process for using circuit mode before purchase; do not infer that approval for one setup extends to the other.
Availability, fitment and price questions
Manthey’s November 2025 German-market product sheet lists a price of €41,911 excluding VAT and said availability was expected from March 2026. Treat that as a dated German-market figure, not a current quote for another country. Porsche’s global announcement also anticipated availability through Porsche Centres from March 2026; its U.S. announcement said Spring 2026 was expected and that U.S.-specific pricing would be announced closer to availability.
The official U.S. information reviewed does not establish current U.S. ordering status or price. U.S. owners should contact a Porsche Centre for a current quote and confirmation of availability, fitment and installation details. Do not use an older U.S. price for the 992.1 kit as a price estimate for this 992.2 package.

Manthey’s product information identifies distinct kit part numbers for 992.2 cars with and without the front-axle lift system. Confirm the vehicle’s configuration when requesting a quote. The available information does not give a universal installation time or a current U.S. installation charge, so get those details from the dealer rather than assuming they are included in a quoted kit price.
A useful quote request should identify the exact car, including whether it has front-axle lift, and ask for the kit configuration, options, installation arrangements and applicable warranty terms. Ask separately whether the price includes the forged wheel set or PCCB racing pads, since those are options, and whether any local taxes are included. The €41,911 figure is explicitly excluding VAT and applies to the German market in the November 2025 sheet; it is not a landed or installed price for other markets.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to decide whether the kit suits your use
It is most relevant if you regularly drive circuits
The package is explicitly developed for circuit use. Its most meaningful elements for that purpose are the aero system, adjustable four-way suspension and track-oriented brake hardware. If the car’s use is mainly public-road driving, the kit’s circuit focus and the restriction on circuit-mode aero deserve particular weight in the decision.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →“Worth it” depends on how often the car will be used on track and whether the owner values the coordinated package enough to justify its local price and installation. The published lap time does not quantify a stock-to-kit advantage, and the brake information does not include a measured stopping-distance or fade test. Those gaps mean the strongest case in the available figures is the package’s specified hardware and manufacturer-reported aero loads, not a guaranteed lap-time or braking return.
Compare like with like
A useful stock-versus-kit comparison should hold the GT3 generation, tyres, circuit and conditions constant. When discussing aero, keep road and circuit modes separate and attach the 285 km/h speed to the respective downforce figures. For wheels and PCCB pads, distinguish included hardware from optional equipment; otherwise a comparison may credit the base kit with a component the buyer has not selected.
For suspension, identify what the spring-rate number is being compared against: Porsche’s 10% figure is relative to the preceding-generation Manthey kit, not a general stock-car comparison. For track evidence, keep the two kit-equipped generations and their optional Cup 2 R tyres in view. This avoids treating differences in generation, tyres, equipment or conditions as an isolated measure of the kit.
Ask the dealer for a complete, market-specific quote
Before committing, establish the local price, whether the quoted configuration matches the car’s front-axle lift system, installation arrangements, and the warranty terms applicable in that market. For a U.S. buyer in particular, the reviewed official announcement did not confirm a current price or ordering status. The appropriate next step is a Porsche Centre quote, not extrapolating from the German-market figure.
Also establish which components are part of the quote and which are options, including the forged wheels and, for PCCB-equipped cars, the special racing pads. If road and circuit use are both planned, confirm the approved road-mode setup and the rules for circuit-mode use. These checks address the main ways a headline kit price or performance number can be misunderstood.

The practical verdict
The 992.2 Manthey Kit is a coordinated, track-focused upgrade centered on aerodynamics and adjustable suspension, with braided brake lines included and select brake pads and forged wheels offered as options. Porsche’s stated downforce and Nürburgring figures are useful only with their configuration, speed, tyres and comparison basis attached. The case for buying it depends on how much circuit use the owner expects, whether the setup matches that use, and the local installed cost and warranty terms.
