Saucemoto’s Dip Clip is still listed in the company’s official store, but the Shark Tank deal that appeared to secure its future did not close. Kevin O’Leary and the founders reportedly failed to agree on final terms after the show.
What happened to Saucemoto on Shark Tank?
Saucemoto appeared on Shark Tank Season 10, Episode 22, which aired May 5, 2019, according to the episode listing. Its founders pitched the Dip Clip, a small holder for keeping dipping sauce within reach in a car.
The deal with Kevin O’Leary
SlashGear reports that the founders asked for $45,000 in exchange for 15% equity. Kevin O’Leary offered $45,000 for equity, and the founders reached an on-air agreement at $45,000 for 25%. The deal reportedly did not close. In a 2023 interview cited by SlashGear, co-founder Tony Lahood said they “didn’t see eye to eye on some of the terms.” That is Lahood’s explanation as reported by SlashGear, not a separately verified interview transcript. SlashGear’s account covers the pitch and the later outcome.
Can you still buy the Saucemoto Dip Clip?
Saucemoto’s official product page lists the Dip Clip. At the time the page was checked for this article, it displayed a price of $10.99, reduced from $12.99; price and stock can change.
