The update also brings eight-inch side-panel speakers on equipped models, revised suspension tuning, a retuned AutoDrive transmission and a modest engine-output increase that Polaris describes as a broader torque curve. Equipment varies substantially by trim, so the speakers and other headline features are not standard across the lineup.
What changed for 2025?
A redesigned front end, with trim-specific details
Polaris announced the 2025 changes on January 30, 2025. The new front-end treatment is not identical across the range: the S has redesigned fascia components with a textured finish; the SL adds fascia graphics; the SLR gets textured closeouts, lower accent lights and painted wing-like elements. The R has a fully painted front end, a lower splitter and a Vented Sport Hood. Polaris says the redesigned front end adds one inch of ground clearance on S, SL and SLR.
Mechanical tuning changes
Polaris says it updated suspension tuning, retuned AutoDrive and increased engine horsepower modestly while broadening the torque curve. The announcement does not quantify the horsepower increase across every trim or provide comparative instrumented test results, so those descriptions should be treated as manufacturer claims—not proof of a measured improvement in handling, acceleration or comfort. Polaris lists the SLR at 204 hp.
Larger speakers, but not on every trim as standard
The new side-panel speakers measure eight inches. Polaris says they provide more volume and bass. Stage 2 Max Audio by Rockford Fosgate is standard on SLR and R; Polaris lists it as an accessory upgrade for 2021-and-newer Slingshots. A Light-Ready Speakers and Premium Interior Light Kit by XKGlow is another upgrade path. Check year and model fitment and the kit contents before buying.

How the 2025 trims compare
Polaris’s January 2025 announcement lists the following U.S. starting MSRPs by transmission. These are published manufacturer figures, not dealer transaction prices. The official lineup page says MSRP excludes destination and handling, tax, title, license and registration, and dealer prices may vary; the announcement also refers to destination and setup charges.

What the equipment ladder means
The S establishes the entry point, while the SL adds a larger display and a more powerful audio system. The SLR is the trim for the stated 204-hp output and 305 mm rear wheel; the R adds features including navigation, Apple CarPlay and Brembo brakes, alongside its distinct front-end treatment. The eight-inch side-panel speaker update should not be confused with a standard feature on every 2025 trim: Polaris identifies Stage 2 Max Audio as standard only on SLR and R.

Where Slingshot 10 fits
Announced February 27, 2025, Slingshot 10 is a limited-build anniversary model based on the R, not a regular trim in the S-to-R ladder. Polaris announced a starting price of $38,999 and said the model was shipping in limited quantities at the time. That announcement does not establish current inventory.
Its announced equipment includes anniversary paint, ghosted graphics and badging, custom cockpit details, Stage 3 Max Rockford Fosgate audio with headrest and eight-inch side-panel speakers, XKGlow interior lighting, heated and cooled seats, RIDE COMMAND features and four-piston Brembo brakes. It builds on the R’s premium positioning with additional anniversary-specific details and equipment.

What to know before treating it like a car
Polaris describes the Slingshot as a three-wheeled motorcycle, not an automobile. It has no airbags and does not meet automotive safety standards. Polaris says three-wheel vehicles can handle differently, particularly in wet conditions, and advises wearing a DOT-approved full-face helmet and fastening the seatbelt. Endorsement requirements depend on jurisdiction; check the rules where you will register and ride it.
