The jumping Chinese electric supercar featured in coverage of iShowSpeed’s April 2025 Chongqing stream is the BYD Yangwang U9. BYD says the car’s four-motor e4 platform and DiSus-X body control enable dramatic movements such as jumping; reports said iShowSpeed bought one, but the available coverage does not confirm a completed sale or establish that he owns it.
What is the car iShowSpeed showed in China?
It is the Yangwang U9, an all-electric supercar sold under Yangwang, BYD’s high-end brand. April 2025 coverage described iShowSpeed demonstrating the car during a Chongqing stream and reported that he had bought it. That report is not proof of ownership: the sources do not document a completed sale.
BYD’s official U9 announcement lists a China launch price of RMB 1.68 million on February 25, 2024. The frequently repeated $250,000 figure comes from 2025 coverage, not an independently verified transaction. It should not be treated as a confirmed amount paid by iShowSpeed or as a current global price.
How does the Yangwang U9 jump?
Four motors on the e4 platform
BYD says the U9’s e4 platform uses four independent electric motors, allowing torque to be controlled at each wheel. That wheel-specific control is part of how the car manages movement and traction. BYD also describes 360-degree turning capability on its e4 platform page.

The reports establish that iShowSpeed demonstrated the U9 and that coverage claimed he bought it. They do not establish that a purchase was completed, where the car would be registered, or whether the reported $250,000 was a transaction price rather than a rounded conversion. BYD’s RMB 1.68 million figure is specifically its China launch price announced in February 2024, not a verified quote for a sale to the streamer.
