Audi’s 2025 updates were a mix of new-generation launches, China-market debuts and a separate technology and equipment package announced late in the year for the next model-year changeover. The changes did not apply to every Audi or every market: the late-year feature details were based on German-market vehicles, and Audi said availability elsewhere would vary.
What was Audi’s 2025 renewal plan?
At its March 18, 2025 annual media conference, Audi identified the A6 and Q3 as central to that year’s renewal. The A6 Avant had already been presented earlier in March, and Audi said the new Q3 was expected in summer. The company also said it would present the A5 plug-in hybrid on March 25 and aimed to launch ten new plug-in hybrid models by the end of 2025. That figure was a target announced at the conference, not confirmation in that announcement that all ten launches occurred.
Audi described its direction as multi-powertrain: new electric vehicles, a new generation of combustion-engine models and plug-in hybrids were all part of the transition toward an all-electric range. For North America, CEO Gernot Döllner said Audi planned ten new models by the end of 2026. Both the PHEV figure and the North American model count were forward-looking plans made in March, rather than a verified list of completed launches.
Which Audi models debuted in China?
At Auto Shanghai on April 23, Audi announced five production debuts. Four were China-dedicated Audi models; the fifth was the first production vehicle from AUDI, Audi’s China-only sister brand developed with SAIC. These announcements describe China-market products, not global additions to every country’s Audi range.

Audi said the group of vehicles used platforms including PPE, PPC and the Advanced Digitized Platform co-developed with SAIC. The platform and equipment details are manufacturer descriptions from the Auto Shanghai announcement.
What did Audi announce for the next model year?
On November 26, Audi announced hardware and software updates for five series: A5, A6, Q5, A6 e-tron and Q6 e-tron. The package was tied to the new model-year changeover, rather than being a specification list for every car sold during calendar 2025. Audi said orders for upgraded PPC vehicles were to open in calendar week 48 and orders for PPE vehicles in week 49 in Germany. It cautioned that timing and feature content differ in other markets.

The announcement covered a range of functions, but it did not mean every item would be standard on every version. Some were optional, package-dependent, limited to particular equipment or described as available only in several markets.

How to check whether an update applies to a specific Audi
For a particular car, the model name alone is not enough to establish what is fitted. Check the vehicle’s market, model year, powertrain and equipment, then confirm the local specification with Audi or the seller.

- Start with the market and model year. The November feature announcement was based on German-market vehicles, and Audi said other markets could differ in content and timing.
- Identify the powertrain and platform. The announcement refers to PPE electric vehicles and PPC vehicles, as well as plug-in hybrids in Audi’s wider renewal plan; those categories do not share an identical equipment list.
- Confirm standard versus optional equipment. Park assist pro additions, the integrated dashcam and some lighting or assistance functions have option, package or equipment dependencies.
- Verify availability and fitment locally. The announcement does not provide a complete trim-by-trim specification for every market, or a price comparison. It is not enough to assume that an announced feature is fitted to a particular trim.
Audi’s cited announcements establish its stated plans, debuts and feature descriptions; they do not provide independent comparative road-test results or a complete global equipment matrix.
