In an 18 August 2022 announcement, Radford said a burgundy Type 62-2 appeared at the Hagerty Celebration of Motorsport at Laguna Seca in California. The company described it as a bespoke customer commission with engineering and chassis upgrades. That establishes a US appearance by a customer-commissioned car; it does not establish when the car was delivered, who owned it, or whether it was the first Type 62-2 delivered to a US customer. Radford’s announcement gives the car’s claimed output as 605 bhp, top speed as 187 mph, and 0–60 mph time as 2.9 seconds. Those figures refer to the car described in that release.
What is the Radford Type 62-2?
The Type 62-2 is a coachbuilt sports car styled as a modern reinterpretation of the Lotus Type 62 and using Lotus technology. At its August 2021 launch, Top Gear described it with a mid-mounted 3.5-litre supercharged V6 and three planned versions. These are launch-era descriptions, not confirmation of current availability or final production specifications. Top Gear’s launch coverage reported the following:

What the sources do—and do not—establish
- Established: Radford announced a bespoke burgundy Type 62-2 commission at a California event in August 2022, along with performance figures for that car.
