Volvo’s January 2026 teaser promised up to 810 km of preliminary WLTP range and up to 340 km added in 10 minutes on a 400 kW charger. The EX60 has since been revealed, and U.S. EPA figures are now available: the 2027 P10 AWD is rated for up to 330 miles with 20- or 21-inch wheels, or 312 miles with 22-inch wheels. Those numbers describe different markets, powertrains and test cycles, so they are not interchangeable.
What did Volvo claim when it teased the EX60?
In its January 8, 2026 pre-reveal announcement, Volvo said an AWD EX60 would offer up to 810 km of range on a single charge under preliminary WLTP testing. It also said a 400 kW fast charger could add up to 340 km in 10 minutes. These were Volvo’s preliminary manufacturer claims, not independent road-test results. Volvo attributed the projected efficiency to its SPA3 platform, cell-to-body integration, in-house electric motors and battery-cell design, and reduced vehicle weight.
At the January 21 reveal, Volvo gave U.S. audiences a preliminary estimate of up to 400 miles of range and up to 173 miles added in 10 minutes on a 400 kW charger. The company said the U.S. version would have a native NACS port, allowing direct connection to Tesla Superchargers without an adapter. Volvo said official EPA estimates would follow. The reveal-era figures were estimates, not the later EPA ratings.
What is the U.S. EPA range of the Volvo EX60?
Volvo announced EPA certification for the 2027 EX60 on July 23, 2026. Its published maximums vary by powertrain and wheel size:

| U.S. configuration | EPA range estimate |
|---|---|
| P10 AWD, 20- or 21-inch wheels | Up to 330 miles |
| P10 AWD, 22-inch wheels | Up to 312 miles |
| P6, 20- or 21-inch wheels | Up to 307 miles |
| P6, 22-inch wheels | Up to 295 miles |
Volvo describes these as EPA range estimates. The company says actual range can vary with driving conditions, where and how the vehicle is driven, maintenance, battery condition and other factors. The published P10 figures also show why wheel size matters: the 22-inch-wheel estimate is 18 miles lower than the 20- or 21-inch estimate.
Why are the UK range figures higher?
Volvo’s UK product page lists preliminary WLTP maximums of 503.3 miles for P12 AWD, 410.1 miles for P10 AWD and 379.7 miles for P6. These are not U.S. EPA ratings: they use a different test cycle, come from a different market and cover different powertrain configurations. In particular, the 503.3-mile UK P12 AWD figure should not be presented as the EX60’s U.S. range.

When comparing figures, keep the market, test cycle and version attached to the number. A preliminary WLTP result and an EPA estimate are not direct equivalents, and a range maximum for one powertrain does not apply automatically to another. Volvo’s UK EX60 page labels its range and specification figures preliminary.
How quickly can the EX60 charge?
Charging claims depend on the variant, charger and conditions. Volvo’s UK product page lists the following DC charging times from 10% to 80%:

| Powertrain | Volvo-listed 10–80% time | Charger condition stated |
|---|---|---|
| P6 | 16 minutes | 350 kW station |
| P10 | 16 minutes | 400 kW station |
| P12 | 19 minutes | 400 kW station |
Volvo calls these figures preliminary and says they depend on a station that does not limit the vehicle’s capability. Outdoor and battery temperature, vehicle condition and powertrain can also affect charging time. A charger’s advertised maximum output does not mean the car will receive that power throughout a session.
For U.S. drivers, Volvo says the P10 AWD can add up to 165 miles in 10 minutes. That is a stated maximum, not a guaranteed result for every stop; charger output and conditions matter. Volvo also says the EX60’s native NACS port provides access to more than 29,000 Tesla Supercharger stations across the U.S. and Canada. The figure describes Volvo’s stated network access, not a promise that every station will be available or suitable for a particular route. Volvo’s U.S. range announcement includes its P10 charging and Supercharger-access claims.

What does the range mean for a home-charging setup?
Volvo UK says the EX60 can charge overnight using a Volvo Cars wallbox and is compatible with single- and three-phase chargers. That makes a Level 2 home EV charger a relevant part of ownership planning, but the vehicle information does not establish that every third-party charger will fit every market or home.
- Check that the connector and charger are compatible with the EX60 version sold in your market.
- Confirm whether your home electrical supply supports the charger you want.
- Ask a qualified installer about circuit capacity, installation requirements and local rules before buying equipment.
Volvo’s UK page describes its wallbox and charging compatibility information.

How to read the EX60’s range and charging claims
- For U.S. range: use the EPA estimates for the specific powertrain and wheel size, rather than the reveal-era estimate or a UK WLTP maximum.
- For UK range: treat the listed P6, P10 AWD and P12 AWD values as preliminary WLTP figures.
- For charging: distinguish a 10-minute added-range claim from a 10–80% charging time; they measure different things and are given for different configurations and conditions.
- For real-world expectations: the figures cited here come from Volvo. They should not be read as independent real-world range or charging test results.
