Several V8 SUVs remain on sale in the U.S., but the evidence available for this guide does not verify ten distinct nameplates for the 2026–2027 model years. The confirmed choices include a Jeep Wrangler, Dodge Durango, Cadillac Escalade-V, GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, and Mercedes-Benz GLE 580 and GLS 580. In every case, check the exact model year, V8 trim and local inventory: a model’s name alone does not guarantee it has a V8 or can be ordered now.
Why this list has fewer than ten SUVs
The title asks for ten, but available manufacturer information does not establish ten distinct U.S. nameplates with current V8 availability. Rather than count multiple trims as separate SUVs or treat an unverified candidate as confirmed, this guide lists the vehicles for which the evidence is strongest. Some entries are related body styles or variants, so the count below should not be read as ten independent nameplates.
“Buy today” also has several meanings. A manufacturer may list an engine as available, announce that orders are open, or show vehicles in dealer inventory; those are not interchangeable. Confirm the exact configuration in the manufacturer’s current builder and check local dealers before making a trip.

2026 Jeep Wrangler Willys 392
Jeep identifies the 2026 Wrangler Willys 392 as HEMI V8-powered and also promotes a Wrangler MOAB 392. Those are trims of the Wrangler, not separate nameplates for a ten-model count. Verify the trim and availability in your area on Jeep’s Wrangler page.

2026 Dodge Durango
Dodge’s 2026 information identifies V8 configurations including the 5.7-liter V8 and supercharged 6.2-liter V8, with GT HEMI and SRT Hellcat configurations noted. Its FAQ describes the 6.4-liter engine as “coming soon,” while a separate performance page describes a 6.4-liter option; check the live configurator or dealer inventory rather than assuming that version is orderable. Dodge announced on March 24, 2026, that orders were open in all 50 states for the 2026 Durango R/T 392 Launch Edition. The manufacturer gave it 475 hp, 470 lb-ft and a maximum towing capacity of 8,700 pounds when properly equipped. Dodge lists combined fuel economy of 12 mpg for the Durango Hellcat’s 6.2-liter V8 and 16 mpg for the 5.7-liter V8. These are manufacturer-published figures, not a cross-model comparison. The difference is useful context if you are choosing between performance and everyday running costs; confirm the rating for the specific configuration you are considering in Dodge’s FAQ.
2026 Cadillac Escalade-V
Cadillac specifies a hand-built, supercharged 6.2-liter V8 for the 2026 Escalade-V, rated at 682 hp and 653 lb-ft. Those are manufacturer figures, not independent test results. Cadillac’s performance page listed a starting price of $168,000, but the page’s shown-price fields can vary; confirm the current build price before comparing offers. 2027 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL
GMC’s current lineup page lists the 2027 Yukon and Yukon XL with an available 5.3-liter V8 and a 10-speed automatic. These are short- and long-wheelbase versions of the same nameplate family, not separate entries toward ten distinct nameplates. 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE 580 4MATIC
The 2026 GLE 580 4MATIC uses a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 with mild-hybrid drive. Mercedes-Benz USA lists 510 hp, 538 lb-ft and fuel economy of 15 mpg city and 21 mpg highway. - Start with the model year and trim. Find the manufacturer’s page or configurator for the model year you want, then select the exact V8 trim. Some vehicles in a lineup use other engines.
- Check the engine in the configuration details. Confirm displacement and whether the engine is naturally aspirated, supercharged or biturbo; do not rely on a model badge or an old review.
- Distinguish order status from inventory. A vehicle described as “available” may not be in stock, and an announcement that orders are open does not prove a particular dealer has one. Search local inventory or contact a dealer to confirm the vehicle’s status.
- Compare the configuration you would actually buy. Verify the current price, seating, fuel-economy rating and towing capacity for that trim and equipment. A maximum tow rating applies only when properly equipped.
What to weigh beyond horsepower
- Fuel use: the Durango figures show that V8 choice can change published combined mpg even within one model. Treat each rating as specific to its configuration, not as a direct comparison with another SUV.
- Passenger needs: the GLE 580 is listed with five seats and seven optional; the GLS 580 is listed with six and seven optional. Check the exact seating package and whether it suits your passengers.
- Use case: the confirmed examples range from the Wrangler’s off-road-oriented 392 trims to large family and luxury SUVs and the high-output Escalade-V. Match the vehicle to your space, towing or performance needs before comparing power figures.
- Evidence limits: the figures cited here come from manufacturers. They are not independent comparative tests, and this guide makes no reliability ranking or claim about which SUV performs best in real-world driving.
Models that need more verification
Some plausible candidates should not be counted as confirmed V8 choices on the evidence cited here. The current U.S. Range Rover page lists SV gas V8 specifications, including a 4.4-liter V8, but some content is explicitly marked “European Model Shown”; verify the U.S. configuration and model year before treating it as a U.S. listing.
