- Get completion evidence. If the car is eligible, ask for documentation showing that the retrofit was completed. If the seller cannot provide it, verify the status directly with Nissan before purchase.

If practical, start the Magnite from cold and listen as it idles and warms up. A brief drive may not reproduce an intermittent or narrow-RPM sound. If you hear one, describe when it occurs—at idle, while accelerating, at a particular engine speed or under steady load—rather than simply calling it an engine problem. That information can help a qualified technician investigate it, but it is not a diagnosis by itself.
Warning lamps and running behavior
Observe the dashboard during startup. Warning lamps should illuminate as part of the normal check and then go out as expected. Investigate any lamp that stays on, returns during the drive, or is accompanied by rough running or inconsistent response. Do not accept a persistent warning simply because the seller says it can be cleared; ask for a technician to diagnose it.

Match the variant to your normal routes, traffic and preferences, then judge the individual car by its records and observed condition. What do the safety ratings tell you about this used car?
Global NCAP’s India results page lists Nissan Magnite test entries published in 2025, including entries with VIN boundaries. A test result applies to the configuration identified by the program; it should not automatically be extended to every model year, market or equipment level. Check the Global NCAP India results entry and match its tested specification and VIN range to the car before applying the rating to it.
In other words, a rating is context about the tested vehicle, not a blanket guarantee about every used Magnite. Check the specific entry and the car’s equipment and VIN details; do not infer that a different year, market or specification was tested to the same configuration.

In a statement dated September 16, 2025, Nissan Motor India said Magnite vehicles are E20 compatible. Nissan specified that the 1.0L HR10 turbo engine has been E20 compatible since August 2024, and the BR10 naturally aspirated engine since February 2025. The same statement says E20 use will not void warranty for New Magnite vehicles sold after October 2024 and Indian-manufactured Nissan vehicles with active warranty.
This is Nissan’s stated position, not an independent durability study. For an older used car, verify its engine, manufacturing and sale details, active warranty status and applicable service documentation directly with Nissan. See Nissan Motor India’s E20 announcement. Do not assume that a statement about newer engines or vehicles with active warranty establishes the warranty status of the particular used car you are considering.
