For daily comfort and built-in storage: Honda Ridgeline
Edmunds’ coverage describes the Ridgeline as having a car-like ride, an in-bed trunk and a dual-action tailgate. Those features can make it a practical choice for commuting and everyday hauling. Compare the individual truck’s price, mileage and condition with alternatives rather than assuming the model-year average applies to it.

Verify the engine, cab and bed on the truck you are considering; broad model-year coverage does not mean every configuration was offered in every year.

How to find a truck that is actually under budget
- Set your local search ceiling. Search current listings by midsize truck and maximum asking price. Cars.com’s under-$30,000 midsize-truck search is one place to view listings; availability changes over time and by location.
- Compare like with like. Record each listing’s model year, trim, mileage, asking price, cab, bed, drivetrain and engine where stated. A model name alone is not a useful comparison when configurations and condition differ.
- Check whether the truck fits the job. Confirm towing and payload ratings, 4WD availability, passenger space and bed length for the exact vehicle using its manufacturer documentation or vehicle label. These figures are not established on a comparable basis across the candidates here.
- Review the vehicle’s history and records. Before committing, check the title and accident history, maintenance records and applicable recall status using the VIN. A model-level price figure cannot tell you whether a specific truck has been maintained or has outstanding issues.
- Inspect the individual truck. Arrange an appropriate inspection before purchase. The price sources do not evaluate the condition of any particular vehicle.
How to interpret the published prices
The figures are not one unified current-market comparison. iSeeCars’ 2026 analysis gives model-year average prices for the Ridgeline and Ranger; Edmunds’ ranges were published through AP in February 2025; and live marketplace listings change with location and time. Use each figure only for the purpose and date it represents, then verify the asking price of the truck you may buy.
VehiSales’ October 2026 analysis reports national median asking prices of $26,392 for 2018–2022 Ridgelines, with a median odometer reading of 80,324 miles, and $22,625 for 2018–2022 Colorados, with a median odometer reading of 83,261 miles.
