Police reports said the rider fled against traffic before the collision; a breath screening reportedly returned a positive reading of 164 mg/100 ml.
What happened on Jalan Munshi Abdullah?
According to news reports carrying the police account, officers manning the cone-marked closure ordered a 21-year-old motorcyclist to stop. He was carrying a 19-year-old pillion passenger. The rider allegedly continued through the closure and fled against the flow of traffic before colliding with two KLSCM participants.

What injuries were reported?
- A 50-year-old woman sustained neck injuries and was reported to be receiving treatment at Prince Court Medical Centre.
- A 41-year-old man sustained injuries to his right knee and hand.
The reports did not provide subsequent medical updates, so the runners’ later condition is not established here.

What did the alcohol screening show?
The rider’s initial breath screening was reported positive at 164 mg/100 ml. Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief ACP Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa was quoted by The Vibes as saying: “A preliminary alcohol screening on the rider returned a positive result, with an EBA reading of 164mg/100ml,”.
Both the rider and passenger were taken to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for blood and urine sampling as part of the investigation. The 164 mg/100 ml figure is the reported screening reading; the reports reviewed do not give the follow-up sample results. It should not be treated as a reported blood-test result.

What was the investigation status on 3 October?
Police were reported to be investigating under Section 44(1A)(b) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and Section 186 of the Penal Code. The reports said the rider was remanded through 5 October and the pillion passenger through 4 October, with both held at Dang Wangi police station lock-up.
