The total covers the NTORQ 125 and NTORQ 150; it is not a figure for the 125 alone. The publication reported the model-level totals, and no separate TVS confirmation of this specific milestone was located.
What the 2.5 million milestone includes
Autocar Professional describes the 2.5 million figure as cumulative wholesale sales for the NTORQ brand, including both the 125cc NTORQ 125 and the larger NTORQ 150. Wholesale sales are not the same measure as customer purchases or retail registrations, so the milestone should not be read as 2.5 million scooters registered to owners.
The distinction matters because the NTORQ 150 arrived after most of the brand’s reported sales had already accumulated. TVS launched the NTORQ 125 on 5 February 2018, while the NTORQ 150 launch announcement appears in the manufacturer’s press-release archive for September 2025.

The 2.08 million figure is specifically for the NTORQ 125 through August 2025. It must not be added to, or mistaken for, a model-by-model breakdown of the later 2.5 million total: the report does not provide a full split between the 125 and 150 at the milestone.

NTORQ’s place in TVS’s scooter range
Autocar Professional calls the NTORQ 125 TVS’s first 125cc scooter and says the NTORQ range ranks second among the company’s scooter models by sales, behind Jupiter. The NTORQ 150 is the newer, larger-capacity sibling. These descriptions provide context for the milestone, but they do not establish a retail-registration ranking or a separate sales total for either model.
For FY2026, the publication reported 363,904 combined NTORQ units, compared with 334,414 in FY2025. It also said NTORQ accounted for 16% of TVS’s record 2.30 million scooter sales in FY2026. Both the numerator and the market share are reported wholesale-sales figures.

What is projected for FY2027
Autocar Professional forecast 450,000 NTORQ units for FY2027. Its projection draws on average monthly wholesale sales of 36,895 during April–August 2026 and an expectation of 260,000–280,000 units from September 2026 through March 2027. The full-year number remains a forecast; it should not be presented as a sales result already achieved.

The 2.5 million milestone and the NTORQ-specific sales details are attributed to Autocar Professional. The available TVS source confirms the NTORQ 150 launch announcement, not the cumulative sales figure. Accordingly, the milestone is best stated as a trade-publication report rather than an independently confirmed TVS company announcement.
