At 4,020km, Autocar India’s TVS NTORQ 150 test scooter is still delivering lively traffic performance and useful everyday convenience, according to rider Azaman Chothia. The report praises its easy overtakes, strong front brake and suspension over damaged roads; the recurring irritations are rear drum-brake adjustment about every 300km, a slower-than-preferred Street-mode restart and mirrors that make tight-gap filtering harder. The test ledger records no faults and no maintenance costs at this checkpoint—an observation about this scooter, not a reliability guarantee for every owner.
How the NTORQ 150 feels after 4,020km
Chothia says the scooter has covered another 1,000km since the previous report. In traffic, it feels responsive enough for quick overtakes without needing to open the throttle fully. That is a rider’s account of everyday performance, not a timed acceleration test.
The front disc earns praise for strong stopping power, while the ABS is described as unobtrusive. The suspension also fares well on potholes and broken roads, making the scooter more convincing as a daily-use machine than a sporty-looking design alone might suggest.
Convenience details matter in routine use: the rider finds the under-seat space adequate for personal needs, likes the external fuel filler, and finds the left switchgear straightforward for navigating the TFT menus. These are observations from the test scooter and rider rather than measurements of storage capacity or a universal assessment of the interface.

What still irritates the rider
Rear drum brake adjustment
The rear drum brake has needed adjustment at approximately 300km intervals during this test. That is the clearest recurring maintenance-related annoyance in the report. It does not mean the scooter incurred a recorded maintenance cost: the 4,020km ledger lists none.
Street-mode start-stop
The rider finds the engine restart from Street-mode start-stop slower than preferred. The report does not quantify the delay, so this is best read as a usability complaint rather than a measured restart-time result.

Mirrors in narrow gaps
The mirrors protrude enough to complicate filtering through tight traffic gaps. For riders who regularly squeeze through dense city traffic, mirror width is worth checking on a test ride using the kind of clearances they encounter day to day.
Faults, maintenance and what the report can establish
At 4,020km, Autocar India’s report records faults: none and maintenance costs: none for its test scooter. Those entries describe one vehicle at one odometer checkpoint. They do not establish long-term reliability across the model, typical ownership costs, or how other scooters will fare under different use and service conditions.

Manufacturer specifications versus long-term observations
TVS’s figures describe claimed specifications and performance, not results measured during the 4,020km account. The distinction matters: the long-term report gives rider impressions in traffic and over rough roads, while TVS’s acceleration and top-speed numbers are manufacturer claims.

Variants, equipment and price
TVS’s 4 September 2025 launch release described a standard NTORQ 150 and a TFT-cluster version. It listed ABS and traction control, and described connected functions for the TFT configuration, including Alexa and smartwatch integration, navigation, vehicle tracking, alerts, OTA updates and custom widgets. Equipment should be checked against the exact variant and current model year rather than assumed to be standard across the range.

The launch release’s ₹1,19,000 ex-showroom all-India figure was a special introductory price on 4 September 2025, not a current quote. Autocar India’s 4,020km report stated ₹1.21 lakh ex-showroom. Because that is a dated report price, check current local listings and obtain a dealer quotation for the relevant variant and location before budgeting.

Autocar India’s 4,020km page lists mileage as yet to be tested, so it does not provide a fuel-economy result for this long-termer. A separate Team-BHP owner report, published 9 June 2026 after approximately 3,600km of mostly Chennai city use with some highway riding, says mileage hovered near 40km/l. The owner also notes riding style affected the result. Treat that as one person’s self-reported experience, not an official figure or a representative expectation for all riders.

How the earlier reports add context
At roughly 3,000km, Autocar India had praised the NTORQ 150’s mix of sporty performance and everyday comfort, planted feel, cornering confidence and suspension over poor roads. That June 2026 account also noted visible TFT scratches, switchgear that felt slightly spongy and occasionally needed another press, and apron interference when taller riders got off. These earlier observations add context, but the later 4,020km report does not say that each of those issues persisted or worsened.
The earlier report contrasts the NTORQ’s 12-inch wheels and conventional scooter layout with the larger wheels and stiffer suspension setups of the Yamaha Aerox, Hero Xoom 160 and Aprilia SR 175. It is qualitative context, not a direct, same-route comparison test; it does not establish which scooter is best overall.
The separate Team-BHP owner also wanted to replace the stock tyres and said a preferred Michelin Pilot Street range was unavailable in the required size. That account does not establish the exact tyre dimensions or a verified compatible replacement. Check the scooter’s specified tyre size and confirm fitment before choosing replacement tyres.
Who should consider the NTORQ 150?
The 4,020km account makes the NTORQ 150 worth considering for a city commuter who values quick-feeling traffic response, confident front braking, rough-road composure and practical touches such as an external fuel filler. Its test rider’s qualifications are equally relevant: recurring rear brake adjustment, a restart response he would prefer to be quicker, and mirrors that intrude when filtering through narrow gaps.
For a shortlist that includes an Activa or a more performance-oriented scooter, compare the exact variants on a test ride rather than treating this report as a winner-takes-all verdict. Pay particular attention to city comfort, wheel and suspension layout, braking and safety equipment, storage and floorboard usability, display/connectivity features, and current variant-specific on-road price. The available comparison context is not a controlled head-to-head test.
