The Toyota Hilux Champ is a customizable pickup that Toyota Motor Thailand launched in November 2023 as the IMV 0, built around work and personal uses that vary widely from buyer to buyer. The $13,000 figure in circulation is an approximate conversion from a launch-era Thai price, not a current or global price. As of October 8, 2026, Toyota Motor Thailand’s model page lists the Hilux Champ from ฿519,000 in Thailand.
What the Hilux Champ is
Toyota introduced the IMV 0 in Thailand on November 27, 2023, and Toyota Motor Thailand markets the model under the Hilux Champ name. Toyota describes it as an affordable pickup designed around local needs and around customization, with both business and private use in mind. That positioning is the manufacturer’s own; the launch materials do not present independent test data on running costs, durability, payload or safety.
Where the $13,000 figure comes from
The headline number is a conversion of the original low Thai-market starting price, made at the time of the launch. It was never a U.S. list price, and it does not describe what the truck costs today. The table below separates the figures that appear in coverage so they are not mixed up.
| Price figure | Market | Date and source | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Approximately $13,000 (converted headline) | Thailand price, converted to U.S. dollars | Launch era, 2023; approximate conversion, exchange rate not stated in the cited launch material | Historical headline; not a current quote |
| ฿519,000 starting price | Thailand | Toyota Motor Thailand Hilux Champ model and price page, accessed October 8, 2026 | Current Thai listing; prices vary by grade and can change |
| U.S. price | United States | Not stated in the cited Toyota sources | No U.S. sale or price is established |
A Thai list price is not a delivered price elsewhere. Taxes, shipping, import duties, registration and local conversion of the vehicle would all have to be added, and none of them is established for any market outside Thailand.

Thailand availability and the market question
The official evidence confirms three things. Toyota announced the Thailand launch on November 27, 2023 and said Toyota Motor Thailand was accepting orders at that time. Toyota Motor Asia published a Hilux Champ launch announcement in January 2024. Toyota Motor Thailand’s model page currently lists the truck for sale in Thailand.
The same sources do not establish sales, import eligibility or dealer availability in the United States or any other country. Readers asking whether the truck is coming to their market should check with their national Toyota distributor, because the answer is set by each distributor rather than by the Thai launch.

Grades, body forms and configurations
Toyota’s launch account described eight grades. The current Thai listing shows several grades rather than a fixed set, and the page covers the following configuration choices:
- Transmission: manual and automatic variants are listed.
- Wheelbase: short and long wheelbase versions are listed.
- Body form: chassis-cab and deck (cargo bed) variants are listed, with the chassis-cab form aimed at buyers who fit their own body.
Specific engine, power and equipment figures should be taken from the live Toyota Thailand specification page for the grade in question. Toyota’s English specification page notes that actual details and equipment may differ from the listed information, so treat the page as the reference for a given grade and date rather than a permanent spec sheet.

Why it is described as a jack of many trades
The “jack of many trades” framing rests on customization. At the Thailand launch, Toyota introduced 11 customized examples alongside the base vehicle, which shows the range of bodies and uses the company had in mind. These are launch-era examples, not a complete catalogue of what is offered today.
Deck attachment points
The most concrete customization detail is the deck. Toyota says the bed has bolt holes at various points so that accessories can be attached using bolts and nuts. That makes bolt-on racks, rails, covers and tool boxes a practical route to a work truck, without welding to the frame or bed. Whether a particular accessory fits depends on the specific bed, year and wheelbase, which Toyota’s sources do not map out model by model.

Accessory and body-builder ecosystem
Toyota says customers who request customization can be given information about more than 100 accessory manufacturers. This is a useful indicator that the platform is meant to be modified, but it is a Toyota-provided figure from the 2023 launch and not an independent count of products available today.
Toyota’s own positioning
The launch release describes the vehicle this way: “Hilux Champ is mobility that helps make your vision come true and your life more colorful, from business to private life, through customizability.” That is Toyota Motor Corporation’s corporate statement from its November 27, 2023 launch release, and it is marketing language rather than a test result.

Checklist before buying or fitting an accessory
- Confirm the market first. The Thai listing and the Thai launch do not establish availability in your country.
- Identify the exact variant: grade, transmission, wheelbase and chassis-cab or deck form.
- Check the model year. Accessory fitment is set by the bed and body configuration, so a part that fits one year or wheelbase may not fit another.
- Confirm that the accessory uses the deck’s bolt attachment points rather than requiring modification.
- Ask the local distributor or body builder to confirm fitment in writing before you pay for the part.
What the sources do not establish
The cited Toyota material does not give payload, towing, fuel economy, safety ratings, durability or operating cost, so comparisons with rival pickups on those points would not be supported. It also does not provide a current accessory fitment table, a list of verified third-party products or any U.S. or global price. Those are the questions to take to a local dealer or to Toyota’s own market pages.
For a buyer in Thailand, the Hilux Champ is a configurable work and personal pickup with a published price and a documented deck mounting system. For anyone else, the truck is a Thai-market model whose availability and cost need to be confirmed locally.
