There is no reliable universal “top five” list for LED projector headlights: the right choice depends first on your vehicle’s bulb size, headlamp assembly and intended upgrade. A replacement LED bulb goes into a compatible existing housing; a bi-LED projector retrofit replaces or modifies the projector itself. Those are different products and installation jobs. Use the five options below as upgrade paths and a source-backed product example—not as a tested ranking across vehicles.
What “LED projector headlights” can mean
A projector is an optical component in a headlamp, not a bulb-size specification. A vehicle with projector headlights may use a particular halogen bulb, an original LED module, or another assembly altogether. Before shopping, identify the vehicle’s year, make, model, trim, original lamp type, bulb size and headlamp assembly. Philips says its H11 LED product is intended for 12V cars with H11 halogen lamps and is not suitable for every car; check the product’s fitment and installation manual.
Five upgrade paths to consider
These options are not five directly comparable products. The choice is between different kinds of upgrade, and compatibility must be established for the specific vehicle.

How to choose the right route
1. Confirm the bulb and assembly
Use the vehicle owner’s manual, a reliable parts lookup or the markings on the original bulb and assembly to identify the application. Do not infer bulb compatibility from the word “projector,” a seller’s broad “universal” label, or the shape of the lamp. Match the year, make, model, trim and original lamp type before ordering.

2. Decide whether a bulb swap is enough
A replacement bulb is the less involved route, but it does not change the projector’s design. A full retrofit involves projectors and related parts, with the headlamp opened, mounted components fitted, wiring connected, the housing resealed and the lamps aimed. Specialist guidance recommends matching the projector size to the housing depth; see the retrofit kit catalog and guidance.
3. Check clearance and electrical behavior
Measure the space behind the bulb and confirm that heat sinks, drivers and connectors fit under the dust cover without obstructing closure. Philips’ H11 manual specifies at least 60 mm of inside diameter beneath the airtight cover for the heat sink and control box. That figure is specific to the Philips product covered by that manual, not a universal clearance rule.

Some vehicles may show flicker, strobing or shutdown after an LED conversion. ORACLE says certain Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and later-model European vehicles may require a CAN-bus decoder if those symptoms occur. Its product page also warns that daytime-running-light voltage may be below the kit’s operating threshold and says DRLs should not be engaged during installation. Confirm the instructions for the exact kit and vehicle.
4. Judge the beam, not the headline lumen figure
After installation, inspect the low-beam pattern and cutoff on a level surface, and aim the lamps as required. A projector lens does not guarantee that an LED bulb will produce a suitable beam in a particular housing. Philips instructs users to switch back to the original H11 halogen if the installed LED has no low-beam cutoff. Do not treat a manufacturer’s lumen or color-temperature claim as proof of usable illumination or beam quality.

What the source-backed product examples establish
ORACLE H4 LED conversion kit
ORACLE lists SKU 5231-001 as an H4 high/low conversion kit for projector-style housings. Its product page states H4 size, 4,000–6,000 lumens, 6000K color temperature, a two-year warranty, and two bulbs, connectors and drivers in the package. These are manufacturer-listed specifications, not independent test results. Although the page describes fitment as “universal,” verify the exact vehicle and bulb application. The manufacturer notes possible decoder needs for certain vehicles and the DRL limitations described above. See the ORACLE product page.
Morimoto M LED Stage III retrofit
Headlight Revolution lists a 3-inch, left-hand-drive Morimoto M LED Stage III bi-LED retrofit kit alongside other complete kits, including vehicle-specific options. This identifies a real retrofit route, not a recommendation that it fits any particular vehicle. Verify projector dimensions, housing depth and the exact kit contents with the seller. Why a comparison chart does not produce five winners
BulbFacts describes a projector comparison method that includes low- and high-beam readings, beam-quality notes, color temperature, power and compatible bulb sizes, measured against a stated halogen-projector baseline. Its page accessed in 2026 showed “0 of 0 current LED kits tested and available.” The page also gives halogen-projector baselines of 230 lux for low beam and 442 lux for high beam. These are the chart’s stated reference figures, not predictions for every vehicle or a current set of five recommended products. See the BulbFacts projector chart.

- Confirm the specific vehicle application and bulb size before purchase.
- Follow the kit’s installation instructions, including any guidance about DRLs, drivers, decoders and dust covers.
- Check that the low beam has a defined cutoff and that the lamps are aimed correctly after installation.
- Check the requirements that apply where the vehicle is registered and driven. Rules depend on jurisdiction and lamp application; the sources cited here do not establish legal approval for a particular conversion.
If the beam pattern is poor, a warning or flicker appears, or a component does not fit beneath the cover, stop and reassess the conversion rather than assuming the projector makes it compatible. For an H11-specific example, Philips’ manual says: “If it is found after the LED-HL [≈H11] lamp is installed that there is no cut-off line for the low-beam light pattern, please switch back to your prior halogen H11 lamp.”
