There is no official or survey-based ranking of the saga’s best cars, so this is an editorial selection based on character connection, memorable story use, cultural recognition and variety. The strongest official anchors are Dom Toretto’s Charger, Brian O’Conner’s Supra and Skyline, and Han Seoul-oh’s RX-7. The wider list also includes muscle cars and other standout models named in licensed franchise materials.
Top 15 Fast & Furious cars
The ranking distinguishes cars with documented character or film associations from additional models named in licensed collection materials. Those catalogue entries are included as notable franchise-associated cars, not as proof of a particular driver, scene or objective popularity.
| Rank | Car | Character, film or evidence | Why it stands out |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1970 Dodge Charger R/T | Dom Toretto’s signature car; named as the black 1970 Charger R/T from the original 2001 film by Universal’s 2021 release. Universal’s 2026 ride announcement also calls the Charger Dom’s signature car throughout the franchise. | The saga’s defining muscle car, closely tied to Dom’s character. |
| 2 | 1994 Toyota Supra Mark IV | Brian O’Conner’s orange Supra from the original film. Universal’s 2026 announcement identifies the 1994 car and its 2JZ-GTE twin-turbo inline-six. | A central tuner-car counterpart to Dom’s Charger and one of Universal’s most memorable franchise cars. |
| 3 | Nissan Skyline GT-R | Brian’s blue Skyline is highlighted by Universal. The 2026 ride announcement describes a 2002 car as inspiration; a licensed brochure separately lists a 1999 Skyline GT-R R34 (collection brochure). | A defining tuner-car image associated with Brian. The two year descriptions refer to distinct source descriptions and should not be conflated. |
| 4 | 1997 Mazda RX-7 | Han Seoul-oh’s car, identified in Universal’s 2026 ride material. | Universal calls the RX-7 one of the franchise’s most iconic cars, making it one of the clearest official picks. |
| 5 | 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona | A licensed franchise brochure lists the model; its 2023 issue description says it appears in the sixth film and describes its confrontation with a tank. | A dramatic variation on the Charger formula, with a story moment that gives it a distinct place in the saga. |
| 6 | 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse | Listed in the licensed franchise collection brochure. This is not the same model as Roman’s Eclipse Spyder listed separately below. | A tuner-era model among the collection’s named cars. |
| 7 | 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GTS | Roman Pearce’s car in 2 Fast 2 Furious, identified in Universal’s 2021 release. | Its association with Roman gives the film’s lineup a more open-top, show-car contrast. |
| 8 | 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner | Identified as Dom’s car in Furious 7 by Universal’s 2021 release. | A later Dom-associated muscle car that broadens his on-screen garage beyond the Charger. |
| 9 | 1940 Willys Coupe | Included among vehicles seen in The Fate of the Furious in Universal’s 2021 release. | An early American coupe stands apart from the saga’s better-known modern tuners and muscle cars. |
| 10 | 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT | Named in the licensed franchise collection brochure; that listing does not establish a character or film pairing. | A modern muscle-car entry in a collection otherwise spanning several eras. |
| 11 | 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS | Named in the licensed franchise collection brochure; a specific character and film are not stated there. | A classic American performance model in the saga’s broader vehicle mix. |
| 12 | 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback | Named in the licensed franchise collection brochure; a specific character and film are not stated there. | A recognizable fastback shape that adds another classic muscle-car silhouette. |
| 13 | 1969 Yenko Camaro SYC | Named in the licensed franchise collection brochure; a specific character and film are not stated there. | A rarefied American performance model among the collection’s catalogue entries. |
| 14 | 1970 Ford Escort MK I RS1600 | Named in the licensed franchise collection brochure; a specific character and film are not stated there. | A compact European performance car that gives the list a different feel from its muscle-car contingent. |
| 15 | Plymouth Barracuda | The licensed collection brochure names Letty Ortiz’s Barracuda but does not give a model year in the cited passage. | Its documented connection to Letty earns it a place among the saga’s character-linked cars. |
What makes the saga’s signature cars memorable?
Character comes first
Dom’s Charger, Brian’s Supra and Skyline, and Han’s RX-7 are memorable partly because viewers connect them to recurring characters, not just to a make or model. In a 2018 Discover Universal interview, picture-car coordinator Dennis McCarthy said, “The inspiration for the cars is primarily character driven.” He also observed that fans have learned what type of car each returning character would want to drive. These are his interview comments, not a formal Universal ranking or policy.
The cars range beyond tuner culture
The familiar tuner-car image is only part of the selection. The list spans American muscle cars, classic coupes, a European performance model and character-linked cars from later films. That range reflects the franchise’s varied vehicle choices; the available sources do not establish a consistent set of performance measurements for comparing all 15.

Are the Universal ride cars the original movie vehicles?
No. Universal’s March 4, 2026 announcement describes the Hollywood Drift ride vehicles as replicas or inspirations for the film cars, not the original cars used during production. It identifies ride vehicles inspired by Dom’s Charger, Brian’s Supra and Skyline, and Han’s RX-7. Universal’s June 23, 2021 release separately names displayed movie vehicles and their character or film associations; the display dates in that release are historical.

How to read the ranking
- The order is an editorial judgment combining character association, memorable story use, cultural recognition and variety.
- Universal’s ride announcement gives particularly strong official recognition to the Charger, Supra, Skyline and RX-7; it specifically calls the Supra memorable and the RX-7 iconic.
- Some later entries come from licensed collection listings that name a model but do not establish its driver or film. The table leaves those associations unstated rather than guessing.
- The sources provide no comprehensive official top 15, measured fan poll, car-popularity statistic or comparable performance data for all the cars.
