The Tonke EQV is a camper conversion built on the Mercedes-Benz EQV 300, sold in three layouts called Adventure, Nomad and Touring. Tonke publishes a 100 kWh battery and a range of roughly 360 km for the vehicle. The headline’s “world’s most refined” is Tonke’s own positioning language, not a verified ranking: no independent comparison we could identify establishes it, so read it as an opinion about the conversion rather than a fact.
What the Tonke EQV is
Tonke states that its conversion is built on the complete Mercedes-Benz EQV, and its technical page identifies the base vehicle as the EQV 300 (Tonke EQV model overview; Tonke EQV options and specifications). Tonke’s product material is the main source for the layouts, equipment and figures below. Mercedes-Benz’s own announcement covers the base van, not the conversion, so it cannot confirm any Tonke-specific detail.
The three layouts compared
The three versions differ mainly in how the rear seating converts, where the kitchen sits, and whether the fridge and 230 V supply come as standard. The table uses Tonke’s English overview and its detailed specification page. Where those two disagree, the cell says so.

Adventure: the flexible option
Adventure is the layout where the kitchen can be taken out. Because the rear kitchen is optional and removable, you can run the van as a people carrier with a sleeping area, or fit the module when you need cooking space. The trade-off is storage: a removable module has to live somewhere when it is not fitted, so check the space you will have for it. The gas burners are also portable, which makes them a different cooking setup from the two induction hobs on the other two versions.

Nomad: a slide-out kitchen with an optional fridge
Nomad keeps the kitchen in the vehicle and slides it out for use. The induction hob avoids a gas cylinder, which matters if you plan to use the van on sites or in places where gas is restricted. The fridge is optional and removable, so the van can run without it. Confirm whether the 230 V supply is fitted on your build, since the overview lists it as optional on this version.
Touring: the fixed, fully equipped version
Touring has the most fixed equipment: an outward-turning kitchen, a built-in fridge and permanent 230 V. It also has the fewest seats, four against five on the other two, and the smallest rear bench. Tonke’s overview gives a 203 × 120 cm bed for this version, but the detailed page lists a 110 × 195 cm lower bed, so measure the actual bed in the build you are offered before deciding whether it suits your sleeping needs.

Published technical figures
Tonke’s technical page lists a 150 kW (204 hp) electric motor, 365 Nm of maximum torque and a 100 kWh battery, with a range of approximately 360 km. The table sets out each published figure with its source and the way the figure is presented.

The three range figures come from the same manufacturer, and none of them is an independent road test. Real-world range depends on load, weather, speed, and how the camper’s living equipment is used, and Tonke’s pages do not say which of its figures applies to which layout. Treat the 360 km figure as Tonke’s published number, not as a range you should plan around for a loaded camper.

Tonke also lists base-vehicle dimensions of 5,140 mm in length, 1,910 mm in height, and 2,244 mm in width including mirrors, with a 3,200 mm wheelbase. These are the figures for the base vehicle as Tonke lists them. Ask Tonke for the dimensions of the finished conversion, especially height, before you check clearance for car parks, garages or roof-mounted items.
Prices: what is published and what to ask for
Tonke’s English overview shows starting prices excluding VAT: €73,919 for Adventure, €77,019 for Nomad and €90,588 for Touring. These are undated overview figures and exclude VAT, so they are not the price you would pay in most EU countries. A Dutch-language product page shows different VAT-inclusive amounts. The two pages may reflect different publication dates or build configurations, and the published material does not resolve which figure is current.

Ask Tonke for a dated, written quote for your country, showing VAT separately and listing every option, including the removable kitchen, fridge, 230 V supply and any extra seating.

- Seat counts: the overview gives five seats for Adventure and Nomad with optional extras, while the detailed page lists different expandable counts.
- Range: the detailed page gives approximately 360 km, the electric campervan page gives up to 360 km, and the overview gives 300–400 km.
- Price: the overview shows ex-VAT figures and a Dutch-language page shows VAT-inclusive figures that differ from them.
Seating needs particular care. Confirm the number of seats with three-point belts in the registered configuration, not just the number of seats shown in marketing material.
The Mercedes-Benz base and its timeline
Mercedes-Benz Media states that the EQV and V-Class were orderable from January 2024 and describes the modular VAN.EA electric van architecture as intended to be introduced from 2026 (Mercedes-Benz announcement on the new EQV and V-Class). This gives context for the base van’s timeline. The announcement does not say whether Tonke’s conversion is still offered, and it does not address support, resale or future Tonke builds. Ask Tonke directly about those points before you commit.
Checklist before you request a quote
- Choose the layout first: Adventure for a removable kitchen, Nomad for a slide-out kitchen with optional fridge, Touring for a fixed kitchen, built-in fridge and permanent 230 V.
- Confirm the seat count and the belted positions in the registered configuration.
- Measure the bed in the specific build, and check it against the dimension Tonke gives on the detailed page.
- Ask which electrical supply is standard and which is optional: 12 V, 230 V, or both.
- Ask Tonke for the basis of its range figure and whether it applies to your configuration.
- Request a dated quote for your country, with VAT shown separately and all options itemised.
- Ask for the finished vehicle’s height and length, not only the base-vehicle figures.
Tonke’s electric campervan page offers a configurator and a brochure request, which is the practical route for building a quote. The source material did not confirm an affiliate or referral arrangement, so any purchase route should be treated as a direct inquiry with Tonke.
Who the Tonke EQV suits
The Tonke EQV suits buyers who want a fully converted electric camper on the Mercedes-Benz EQV platform and who are prepared to verify the details themselves. The three layouts offer real choices: a removable kitchen for flexibility, a slide-out kitchen with optional fridge, or a fixed kitchen with a built-in fridge and permanent 230 V. The published battery and range figures are useful starting points, but they are Tonke’s claims, and the price and specification differences between its pages mean that a written, dated quote is the only reliable basis for a decision. The phrase “world’s most refined” describes how Tonke presents the van; it is not a verdict that independent testing has delivered.
