SSR Motorsports says it began in 2002 importing and distributing small off-road motorcycles, then expanded into scooters, ATVs, UTVs and other powersports vehicles. It is a U.S. importer and distributor—not, based on the available company and brand histories, the owner of Benelli or QJ Motor.
How SSR Motorsports got started
SSR Motorsports describes its origins in a short, direct statement: “SSR Motorsports was established in 2002 to import and distribute powersports products.” The company says its first products were pit bikes, small off-road motorcycles that helped establish its business in the U.S. market. SSR Motorsports’ About Us page gives the company’s account; it does not name an individual founder.
SSR’s stated mission is to “Provide Quality Powersports Products at an Affordable Price with Premier Customer Service.” That is the company’s own mission statement, not an independently measured assessment of product quality, pricing or service. SSR’s news page publishes the statement.
How its product range expanded
SSR says it added ATVs and UTVs as the business grew, and entered the scooter market in 2006. Its current company descriptions cover a broader assortment of powersports vehicles, including pit bikes, dirt bikes, dual-sport and enduro motorcycles, scooters and UTVs. The mix of models can change, so buyers should check SSR’s current listings rather than assume a particular vehicle remains available.

The company’s growth has been an expansion across vehicle categories, not simply a move from one motorcycle type to another. A pit bike, a road-capable dual-sport motorcycle, a scooter and a side-by-side serve different purposes; compare the current model’s intended use and specifications before treating them as interchangeable options.
SSR’s relationships with Benelli and QJ Motor
SSR’s role in the histories of Benelli and QJ Motor is described as distribution, not ownership. In 2015, Benelli Motorcycles USA says SSR and QJ reached an agreement covering North American distribution of Benelli products. Benelli’s U.S. history page documents that arrangement.

SSR’s About Us page says SSR and QJ announced a North American distribution agreement for QJ Motor products in 2023. At the time, the announced range included seven motorcycles from 135cc to 750cc and two scooters. Those figures describe the scope announced in 2023, not a promise that every listed product is currently sold or available.
These agreements make SSR a distribution partner in the North American market; they do not establish that SSR owns either brand or is their parent company. The company sources cited here do not set out SSR’s present ownership structure.

Where SSR says its products are sold
SSR’s consumer FAQ says its products are officially available only in the United States. The company says it does not sell directly to consumers or ship directly to other countries, and directs customers to authorized U.S. dealers. SSR also describes its dealerships as independently owned and operated. These are SSR’s own statements about its sales and dealer network. Check with a local dealer for current inventory, service and ordering details.
SSR presents dealer support and replacement-parts availability as part of its ownership proposition. It also provides owner materials through its catalog, including brochures, owner’s manuals and wiring diagrams. Owners should match any manual, diagram or replacement part to the exact vehicle and model year, and confirm current availability before ordering.

For a vehicle purchase, ask the dealer for the full out-the-door price. SSR’s FAQ notes that MSRP may not include destination charges, freight surcharges, setup, tax, title, license or other dealer fees; the applicable charges depend on the transaction. SSR reported “Over 350 dealers nationwide” in a December 2022 company news item. That is a historical company-reported figure, not a verified current dealer count. SSR’s news page is the source for that 2022 statement.
