The list spans sports cars, sedans, SUVs, a pickup and limited-run performance models.
What counts as a manual—and what this list covers
Here, “manual” means a transmission the driver operates with a clutch pedal and gear lever. That includes Toyota’s iMT gearboxes because they still use three pedals. It excludes automatics with a manual mode, paddle-shift dual-clutch transmissions and automated manuals without a clutch pedal.

The title says “car,” but the inventory count covers light vehicles more broadly: it includes the Jeep Wrangler, Ford Bronco and Toyota Tacoma as well as passenger cars. The 27-model figure is OctaneDaily’s count of vehicles its September 26, 2026 roundup said could still be ordered or found on a U.S. lot. Its table mixes model years, and its grouping of Porsche 911 variants means readers should not treat the compact list below as a count of every body style or derivative.

“Listed” is not the same as “available to order today.” The September roundup distinguishes vehicles that were staying, limited, retired, paused or of unknown status, and those labels reflect its date. In particular, inventory can outlast factory ordering, and a model-year change can alter trim and transmission availability.
What the least expensive manual entries cost
The three lowest manual starting prices identified in the roundup are not directly comparable final prices: each is a manufacturer’s suggested retail price before destination, taxes and options, and only the Miata’s destination charge is specified here.

OctaneDaily describes the Miata as the only vehicle in its list below $31,000 and the only one for which the manual is the default configuration. The Miata’s listed MSRP plus its stated destination charge is $32,045 before taxes and options; the other two destination amounts are not given in the roundup, so their delivered totals cannot be calculated from these figures.
How to choose among three pedals
Start with the job, not a universal ranking
A lightweight roadster, a practical hatchback, a performance sedan, an off-road SUV and a pickup solve different problems. Decide whether you need rear seats, cargo space, weather protection, towing or trail capability before comparing performance-car specifications. There is no single best manual choice for every use.

Check which trim actually has the clutch pedal
Manual availability may be confined to one trim or powertrain. The roundup’s examples include the Mazda3 2.5 S Premium, the WRX’s CVT-only GT exception, and the Tacoma’s specific engine, cab, drivetrain and grade combination. Verify the complete build, rather than relying on a model name or a general feature list.
Match drivetrain and engine to your priorities
Manual choices span front-, rear- and all-wheel-drive vehicles, but the gearbox may not pair with every engine or drivetrain in a model range. Toyota’s official product information, for example, describes the GR Corolla’s 300-horsepower turbocharged three-cylinder, GR-FOUR all-wheel drive and six-speed iMT. Toyota’s Tacoma information calls out rev matching, anti-stall technology and a clutch-start-cancel switch; its manual configuration remains limited to the combinations listed above.

Separate factory orderability from dealer stock
A car shown in a roundup may be a current factory order, a limited run, a vehicle with closed orders or a prior model year still on a lot. Before making a trip or paying a deposit, ask the dealer to confirm the model year, exact trim, transmission, VIN and whether the vehicle is available to purchase or only listed as incoming. For a factory order, confirm that the manufacturer is still accepting orders for that configuration.

Why the count depends on the date and definition
The September 26, 2026 roundup counts 27 models a shopper could still order or find on a U.S. lot, mixing 2026 and 2027 model years. GearJunkie’s February 3, 2026 roundup counted 29 model-year 2026 vehicles. Those figures describe different dates and scopes; neither is a sales total or market-share statistic. No authoritative 2026 manual-transmission sales or market-share figure is established here.

Availability evidence is not a single official all-manufacturer directory. Toyota’s product information confirms specific Toyota manual offerings, while Porsche’s August 13, 2026 announcement confirms the return of a six-speed manual Carrera S in North America. Porsche said it would be available in coupe and Cabriolet form, exclusively rear-wheel drive, and identified seven 911 variants with conventional manuals across the range. Timo Resch, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America, said: “As a lifelong driving enthusiast I’m personally excited to announce the return of the manual transmission to the Carrera S,” and added that Porsche was “proud to continue offering three pedals in a range of products that speaks to different use cases.”
For any model—especially one with a limited order window or a next-year status reported as unknown—the manufacturer’s current configurator and dealer inventory are the final checks. The September snapshot is a useful late-2026 map, not a guarantee that every listed configuration remains available where you live.
