Top Gear reports that it appeared in Fast & Furious 9. The available reporting does not show that the car was inspired by the franchise. The relationship it documents runs the other way: the car was chosen for a film.
What the reporting confirms
Top Gear names the Noble M600 as one of the cars shown in Fast & Furious 9. The article quotes the franchise’s car coordinator, Dennis McCarthy, explaining that the M600’s rarity and unfamiliarity helped earn it a place in the film. That is a claim about casting. It says the production wanted a car audiences would not have seen before.

Why the “inspired by” claim is not supported
The headline says the car was inspired by The Fast & The Furious. Nothing located in the reporting establishes that. A film appearance and a design influence are different things. A manufacturer could be in a film without the film shaping how the car was engineered, styled or built. Reporting that documents a design influence would need to come from the manufacturer, a company history, or a contemporary account tying the car’s development to the films. None of those was found.
Until that kind of source appears, describe the connection as a film appearance. Avoid repeating “inspired by” as fact.

How rare is the Noble M600?
The reporting does not establish a production total. No manufacturer, registry or similarly authoritative count was located, so no precise figure can be given with confidence. The word “rarest” in the original headline is therefore an unverified superlative. The car’s scarcity is a plausible reading of the McCarthy explanation, but it is not a measured fact in these sources.

Collectors interested in the franchise will find that licensed die-cast models of film cars exist as a category. A 2014 collector review documents GreenLight’s licensed Fast & Furious line, including film cars. That review does not establish a Noble M600 model, and no current availability for one was located. Anyone looking for an M600 replica should confirm that a specific model exists before assuming one does.
Quick Recap
How to check a claim like this
- Separate appearance from influence. A car in a film was selected for that film. A car inspired by a film was shaped by it, and that needs a documented source.
- Look for a primary source. Manufacturer statements, company histories and named industry sources carry more weight than headlines.
- Treat rarity figures with care. Ask who counted the cars, when, and whether the number includes all variants.
- Check quotations against the full article. Excerpts can drop context that changes the meaning.
