The highest horsepower rating in Cadillac’s current lineup is 682 hp for the Escalade-V. The CT5-V Blackwing follows at 668 hp, while Cadillac’s legacy listings put the discontinued CTS-V at 640 hp. Those figures support a useful comparison—but the available official ratings do not establish a defensible top ten. This ranking therefore includes the six models whose horsepower figures are supported by Cadillac sources, ordered by factory-rated output rather than acceleration, torque, or top speed.
Ratings below refer to the cited model or generation, not every year or configuration sold under that name. Cadillac’s current lineup associates the Escalade-V and CT5-V Blackwing figures with premium gasoline. Electric models are not included: the sources reviewed here do not supply comparable factory horsepower ratings for Cadillac EVs.
Cadillac power rankings: the six models with supported ratings
Cadillac’s official sources identify six distinct V-Series models with horsepower ratings suitable for this comparison. Because the evidence does not establish ten model-specific ratings on a consistent basis, extending the list to ten would mean guessing or counting trims and body styles as separate cars.
| Rank | Model and source context | Factory-rated horsepower | Other published output |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Escalade-V; 2026 current lineup rating | 682 hp | not stated in the cited current lineup source |
| 2 | CT5-V Blackwing; 2021 launch rating | 668 hp | 659 lb-ft |
| 3 | CTS-V; Cadillac legacy-vehicle listing, generation/year not specified on that listing | 640 hp | not stated on the cited legacy listing |
| 4 | CT6-V; Cadillac legacy-vehicle listing | 550 hp | 640 lb-ft |
| 5 | CT4-V Blackwing; 2021 launch rating | 472 hp | 445 lb-ft |
| 6 | ATS-V Coupe; Cadillac legacy-vehicle listing | 464 hp | not stated on the cited legacy listing |

What makes each Cadillac stand out
1. Escalade-V — 682 hp
With 682 hp, the Escalade-V is the most powerful production Cadillac in the official sources reviewed here. Cadillac’s 2023 V-Series anniversary announcement called it the most powerful Cadillac production model at that time; the current lineup continues to list the same 682-hp rating for the 2026 Escalade-V. That makes it the highest-rated vehicle in this comparison, although its SUV body style means the figure alone does not make it directly comparable to the Blackwing sport sedans in handling or track use.
Cadillac’s 2023 announcement also places the V-Series in a motorsport context: the sub-brand began at Sebring in March 2004, where the CTS-V.R race car made its debut and won its first SCCA Pro Racing World Challenge GT race. That history explains the performance badge’s racing association; it does not mean the production Escalade-V is a race car.

2. CT5-V Blackwing — 668 hp and 659 lb-ft
The CT5-V Blackwing sits 14 hp below the Escalade-V in this ranking. Cadillac’s 2021 launch announcement gives it 668 hp and 659 lb-ft, and reports a top track speed of more than 200 mph. That speed is a manufacturer-published track claim, not a public-road recommendation or a directly comparable horsepower measure. Cadillac’s 2024 brochure describes the CT5-V Blackwing as the most powerful Cadillac sedan in the brand’s history—a sedan-specific distinction, not a claim that it outranks the Escalade-V overall.
The current specification page identifies a 6.2-liter supercharged V8, a standard six-speed manual transmission, and an available ten-speed automatic. The listed rating depends on premium gasoline according to Cadillac’s current lineup information. See the 2026 CT5-V Blackwing specifications and the 2024 CT5 V-Series brochure.

3. CTS-V — 640 hp
Cadillac’s legacy-vehicle page lists the discontinued CTS-V at 640 hp. Since that listing does not identify a particular model year or generation alongside the rating, it should be treated as the output attached to Cadillac’s legacy listing—not assumed to cover every CTS-V. Its 640-hp figure places it below the two current headline models and above the CT6-V in this source-based comparison.
4. CT6-V — 550 hp and 640 lb-ft
The legacy CT6-V is listed at 550 hp and 640 lb-ft. Cadillac associates that output with a hand-built 4.2-liter Blackwing twin-turbo V8. Its torque rating is close to the CT5-V Blackwing’s despite a lower horsepower figure, illustrating why torque and horsepower answer different questions: horsepower is the ranking measure here, while torque is a separate part of an engine’s output profile.

5. CT4-V Blackwing — 472 hp and 445 lb-ft
Cadillac’s 2021 Blackwing launch material rates the CT4-V Blackwing at 472 hp and 445 lb-ft. It is the smaller sedan in the Blackwing pair and produces less power than the CT5-V Blackwing, but remains a distinct performance model rather than simply a lower-output version of the same car.
6. ATS-V Coupe — 464 hp
Cadillac’s legacy listing gives the discontinued ATS-V Coupe 464 hp, eight horsepower fewer than the CT4-V Blackwing. The coupe body style and its place in Cadillac’s earlier V-Series lineup are useful context, but neither changes its position when the comparison is limited to the horsepower figures shown by Cadillac.

Why this is not a definitive top ten
The title’s “10” cannot be substantiated from the available model-specific ratings without adding unsourced figures or counting variants as separate entries. The six listed models are a supported starting set, not proof that no other Cadillac production vehicle belongs among the ten most powerful. A complete historical top ten would require checking additional candidates against the same rules: production configuration, model year, engine rating, and whether electric vehicles are included.
For a fair comparison, use the manufacturer-rated output for a clearly identified model year and configuration. Do not combine a current rating with a legacy model’s unspecified year, or interpret an accolade limited to Cadillac sedans as an all-vehicle ranking. Acceleration, top speed, torque, and body style can describe performance, but they are not substitutes for the horsepower axis used here.
How Cadillac’s V-Series arrived here
Cadillac says the V-Series performance sub-brand began in March 2004 at Sebring, when the CTS-V.R debuted and won its first SCCA Pro Racing World Challenge GT race. The brand’s 2023 anniversary release lists the CTS-V as the first-generation V-Series production model. Cadillac executive chief engineer Brandon Vivian described the relationship between racing and road cars this way: “Our championship-winning race team brings an uncompromising eye for detail that is channeled into every production model.”
In 2021, Cadillac introduced the CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing. Performance variant manager Mirza Grebovic said: “Driving is always a blend of the quantifiable and the subjective, and in both regards, the new CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing deliver like few other luxury sport sedans,” The figures show the quantifiable side; the different sizes, body styles, and transmission choices help explain why horsepower alone does not describe the whole driving experience.
