The Lexus LS remains listed in the U.S. lineup for 2026, but Lexus identifies 2026 as the LS 500’s final model year. The last U.S. version is the LS 500 AWD Heritage Edition, limited to 250 units. Lexus says a few may still be available at select dealers, but it has not announced a precise end-of-production date or the date the last car will be sold.
Is Lexus discontinuing the LS?
For the U.S. market, the LS is in its final model year, not already gone from dealer lots. Lexus describes the 2026 LS 500 AWD Heritage Edition as a final-year tribute and says the LS story will soon conclude. Its current LS page says the “final few” examples can still be found at select Lexus dealers.
Those statements establish the end of the model year, not a specific date when production ends, the last retail sale occurs, or dealer availability disappears. Any remaining stock is location-dependent and can change quickly. Lexus has not stated that the end of the U.S. LS 500 means the nameplate ends at the same time in every market.
What is the 2026 Lexus LS Heritage Edition?
Lexus announced the 2026 LS 500 AWD Heritage Edition on September 26, 2025, as the only LS 500 offering for the U.S. model year. The company said 250 units were set for the United States and expected them to reach dealerships in fall 2025. Its announced starting MSRP was $99,380, including a $1,550 delivery, processing, and handling fee. That is the launch MSRP, not a current quote or a guarantee of a dealer’s asking price. Lexus’s announcement describes the edition as a tribute to the original LS.

Powertrain and equipment
According to Lexus, the Heritage Edition pairs a 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 rated at 416 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Lexus states a 0–60 mph time of 4.6 seconds; these are manufacturer figures, not independent test results.
The announced equipment includes Ninety Noir exterior paint, a Rioja Red interior—an LS first—20-inch split-spoke wheels, a panoramic glass roof, Panoramic View Monitor, heated rear seats, and a Mark Levinson Reference Surround Sound system with 23 speakers and 2,400 watts. These details are from Lexus’s 2025 announcement, not a claim about every LS from earlier years.

How the U.S. LS lineup narrowed
The 2025 lineup offered more choice than the final-year edition. Lexus’s 2025 materials listed the LS 500, LS 500h AWD hybrid, and LS 500 F SPORT. For 2026, Lexus’s announcement specifies only the LS 500 AWD Heritage Edition.

The 2025 figures are historical announced starting prices, not direct comparisons with a current 2026 asking price: model, equipment, and timing differ. Lexus said the 2025 LS carried over unchanged from the prior model year. See its 2025 LS announcement for that lineup and pricing.

Is the Lexus ES replacing the LS?
Lexus’s current LS page also promotes the 2026 ES, but it does not identify the ES as the LS’s replacement. Without a Lexus announcement making that connection, it is more accurate to say the LS is ending its U.S. run after the 2026 model year than to call the ES its successor.
