Nick Mason is the clearest Ferrari-focused collector in the available record: he has discussed buying a 275 GTB four-cam, a 250 GTO and an F40, while a recent profile also identifies a 512 S in his collection. Jay Kay has a documented Ferrari history too, including a 250 GTE and an Enzo reported in 2011. Other musicians are linked to historically notable Ferraris, but those associations do not always establish present-day ownership.
How to judge a “greatest” Ferrari collector
There is no reliable global ranking of celebrity Ferrari collections, no comparable total valuation, and no complete public inventory for the people discussed here. “Greatest” is therefore best understood through documented Ferrari-specific depth, the historical or technical significance of the cars, the collector’s engagement with car culture, and the strength and date of the evidence.
That distinction matters: a first-person account of buying a car, a dated report of an acquisition, and a museum exhibition association are different kinds of evidence. None should automatically be read as proof of a complete or current garage.
Nick Mason: a collector with a personal Ferrari history
Pink Floyd drummer and historic racer Nick Mason offers the strongest Ferrari-specific case because he has spoken directly about his cars. In a September 15, 2026 interview with Motor Sport Magazine, Mason recalled: “My first Ferrari was the 275 GTB four-cam. It was another five years before I could afford the GTO.”

- Die-Cast Metal Construction – Durable metal body with detailed plastic components
- Highly Detailed Design – Realistic exterior styling and interior details
- Free-Rolling Wheels – Smooth movement for display or play
- Perfect for Collectors & Kids – Great gift for automotive fans
The profile also identifies a 512 S in his collection, labels a car pictured with him as his 250 MM, and shows him with an F40. Mason says he bought the F40 new in 1988 and that it remains a joy to him. These are substantial examples, not a complete inventory of his Ferraris.
Mason’s attraction is not just to rarity. He described Ferrari’s appeal as “the history, the sculptural look of the cars, the noise of those V12 engines,” adding that they are “still the best looking cars.” His comments connect the collection to design, sound, racing and the experience of driving.

Jay Kay: two Ferraris documented in a 2011 report
A February 26, 2011 report from the 24 Hours of Le Mans / Automobile Club de l’Ouest said Jamiroquai singer Jay Kay acquired a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTE 2+2 at the Artcurial Retromobile auction on February 4 that year. The article also described a Ferrari Enzo as one of two black cars among the gems of his collection at that time.
This is dated evidence, not confirmation of what Kay owns today. A 2026 exhibition roundup also associates him with a LaFerrari, but an exhibition association alone does not establish current ownership.

Other musicians linked to notable Ferraris
A February 23, 2026 Gazzetta Motori roundup of the Enzo Ferrari Museum exhibition The Greatest Hits – Music Legends and their Ferraris names cars associated with a range of music figures. The exhibition is reported to run through February 16, 2027. Its selection documents cultural connections, not necessarily present ownership by each person.
- Eric Clapton — SP12 EC.
- Rod Stewart — F50.
- Axl Rose — Enzo.
- Mick Jagger — 288 GTO.
- John Bonham — Daytona Spider.
- Luciano Pavarotti — F40.
- Herbert von Karajan — 250 GT Lusso.
- Travis Scott — LaFerrari Aperta.
The Design Museum’s Ferrari: Under the Skin clients page adds historical celebrity connections: it identifies Nick Mason’s F40, Steve McQueen’s 275 GTB/4 and Mick Jagger’s GTO delivery among its material. Its archive photography description also names Clint Eastwood, Sammy Davis Jr, Brigitte Bardot and Peter Sellers. These records make the breadth of Ferrari’s celebrity clientele visible, but they are not a current-owner list.

Ralph Lauren is a major car collector, but not a verified Ferrari-specific pick here
Ralph Lauren is well documented as an automobile collector whose collection was assembled over several decades. Peninsula Classics’ Best of the Best judges profile quotes him describing cars as “moving art” that can be enjoyed visually and driven. The profile supports his standing as a major collector; it does not provide a Ferrari inventory. He is best described as a leading broader car collector rather than ranked here on unverified Ferrari holdings.

Peter Holloway is not a celebrity, but his collection illustrates a different kind of Ferrari commitment. In 2019, Ferrari Magazine described his seven front-engined, manual GT cars with V12 engines as a selection representing different Ferrari eras. The article says his Carrozzeria Ellena 250 GT Coupé was one of 50 built, with fewer than 20 remaining, and that Ferrari made 150 examples of the 1968 365 GTC.

That deliberate model-and-era focus is a useful counterpoint to Mason’s wider historic-car and racing interests. It also shows why a single “greatest” ranking would flatten very different collecting aims.
Quick Recap
What the evidence supports—and what it does not
- Strongest Ferrari-specific profile: Nick Mason, whose first-person recollections and named cars provide unusually direct evidence.
- Documented dated ownership reporting: Jay Kay’s 250 GTE acquisition and Enzo were reported in 2011; that does not prove current ownership.
- Celebrity associations: Museum and design-museum material records cars connected with famous figures, but association or display is not the same as present ownership.
- No defensible global ranking: the available records do not establish a complete census, comparable values, or a reliable count of Ferraris owned by each celebrity.
