When did the new Audi Q5 arrive in the U.S.?
Audi of America announced the all-new 2025 Q5 lineup on April 24, 2025, and said deliveries to U.S. dealerships would begin in May 2025. The launch release described the Q5 as the third generation of the lineup and said it was built on Audi’s Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) architecture. What changed with the 2025 Q5?
Powertrains and standard all-wheel drive
Audi’s 2025 launch specifications listed the Q5 and Q5 Sportback with a 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder engine rated at 268 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, paired with a seven-speed S tronic transmission. Quattro all-wheel drive was standard. The launch release also listed 362 hp and 406 lb-ft for the 3.0-liter V6 in the SQ5 and SQ5 Sportback. These are Audi’s launch figures for the 2025 lineup; check current model-year specifications for any vehicle you are considering.
Audi’s 2026 Q5 overview continues to list 268 hp, a seven-speed transmission, and standard quattro for the standard Q5.

Adjustable rear seating and cargo room
The 2025 launch material described an adjustable rear bench that slides and tilts. With the rear seats folded, Audi reported 56.9 cu. ft. of cargo capacity for the Q5 SUV and 53.1 cu. ft. for the Q5 Sportback. Those figures are specific to the body styles and configuration Audi described; they should not be applied to the SQ5 or treated as current figures for every model year.
Available dashcam on the 2026 Q5
Audi lists an available forward-facing dashcam for the 2026 Q5. The company says it records 4K video at 30 frames per second and stores footage locally on an SD card, which is supplied separately. Audi’s overview does not state a card capacity or compatibility list; consult the owner’s manual before buying a card. Details appear on the 2026 Q5 overview.

What does the current U.S. Q5 lineup cost?
Audi USA lists four 2026 Q5-family models. These are starting MSRPs, not out-the-door prices. Audi’s disclaimer says the listed MSRP excludes the $1,395 destination charge, taxes, title, options, and dealer charges; the dealer sets the actual price. These prices apply to Audi USA’s listed 2026 models and may change. They are not the 2025 launch prices: Audi’s April 2025 release listed the 2025 Q5 SUV at $52,200 and the SQ5 SUV at $64,800, each before a $1,295 destination and delivery charge. Audi noted that the 2025 specifications were preliminary and subject to change. How to choose among the Q5 models
- Choose by body style: Compare the conventional SUV with the more coupe-like Sportback, and confirm cargo space for the exact model year and trim.
- Choose by performance: The Q5 is the standard model; the SQ5 is the performance-oriented version. Verify the powertrain and equipment for the specific year and configuration.
- Compare the full purchase price: Starting MSRP excludes destination, taxes, title, options, and dealer charges. Ask the dealer for a complete price quote.
- Check availability: Inventory and equipment can vary. Audi provides build-and-price and inventory routes through its Q5 lineup page.
What does “best-selling” mean here?
Audi’s launch release described the Q5 as its best-selling model lineup, but the reviewed sources do not provide a Q5-only U.S. sales total. Audi reported 196,576 vehicles sold across its entire U.S. lineup in 2024; that company-wide figure is not a Q5 sales count and should not be read as one.
