Jay Ohrberg’s pink guitar car is a modified 1970 Cadillac Eldorado stretched into a 41-foot-long show vehicle. It has been presented by its current museum as Elvis Presley’s car, but that history is disputed: the available accounts do not establish that Presley drove this exact vehicle.
What is the pink guitar car?
It is a custom car shaped like an oversized guitar, built from a 1970 Cadillac Eldorado and credited to custom-car builder Jay Ohrberg. The guitar form is bodywork, not a playable instrument. Orlando Auto Museum coverage describes the vehicle as 41 feet long; that is about 12.5 meters, which is why “12-meter” is a rounded description. The Orlando Sentinel’s January 2026 report, republished by Yahoo, and FOX 35 Orlando’s report give the 41-foot measurement. EFE reported it as nearly 12.5 meters in its January 2026 coverage.
Did Elvis Presley really drive it?
That claim is not settled. FOX 35 reported that Presley drove the car to a Las Vegas concert, and Dezerland Park’s materials call it Elvis’s Guitar Car and describe it as built for him. Those are claims made by the museum operator and media reporting; the sources available here do not provide primary records proving Presley drove this specific car.
There is also a direct counterclaim. TCB Belgium, an Elvis fan club, said in an October 2025 post that the story was false and that a similar converted vehicle appeared at three exhibitions in Belgium in 1990. The club says it helped with those events. Its account is relevant evidence of a dispute, but it is not a vehicle registry or a complete ownership record. TCB Belgium’s post and the museum’s account, quoted by Classic Motorsports, do not resolve the car’s full provenance.
#1 Best Overall
- Officially Licensed Replica – Authentic styling and branding from the original manufacturer
- Die-Cast Metal Construction – Durable metal body with detailed plastic components
- Highly Detailed Design – Realistic exterior styling and interior details
- Free-Rolling Wheels – Smooth movement for display or play
- Perfect for Collectors & Kids – Great gift for automotive fans
The careful answer is that the car is marketed and exhibited as Elvis’s, and some reports say he drove it, but the evidence cited does not independently confirm either that it was made specifically for him or that he drove this exact vehicle.
How was the car restored?
The Orlando Sentinel reported that the vehicle arrived in Orlando in September ahead of its January 2026 reveal. The restoration team faced substantial deterioration, including brittle fiberglass, holes and rust, a seized engine, axle problems, and work to the front end, rear fins and taillights.

Project manager Greg Osborne told the Sentinel: “It was getting old and brittle, so it had huge holes in it and starting to rust out everywhere, so we had to refresh the fiberglass on it.” The coverage describes the repair work, but does not establish a reliable final restoration cost.
Where can you see the guitar car?
After restoration, the car debuted at Orlando Auto Museum inside Dezerland Park on January 8, 2026, according to Dezerland Park’s announcement and contemporaneous coverage. The Orlando Sentinel reported that it was displayed there. Exhibits and visitor access can change, so check the museum directly for current display status and admission details before visiting. A dated admission offer in the January announcement applied only to January 8 and 9, 2026, and is no longer current.

Don’t confuse it with the American Dream limousine
Jay Ohrberg is also associated with The American Dream, a separate Cadillac limousine. It is not the guitar car. Vroom reported that the limousine measured 30.54 meters after restoration in 2022. Vroom’s report concerns that different vehicle, not the pink Eldorado.
