1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesThe good news is substantial: the 2026 Hyundai Palisade is an all-new, second-generation three-row SUV—not a mild cosmetic update. Hyundai has expanded the Palisade in three important directions at once: a new hybrid powertrain for better efficiency and range, a more upscale cabin with ambitious technology, and an adventure-oriented XRT PRO trim with hardware that goes beyond appearance.
The familiar naturally aspirated V6 remains available, so buyers are not being forced into electrification. But pricing, fuel economy, towing, seating, cargo capacity, and accessory fitment vary by configuration. There is also a current recall caveat for certain Limited and Calligraphy vehicles, making a VIN check essential before buying a new Palisade.

Hyundai unveiled the redesigned Palisade at the New York International Auto Show on April 16, 2025, describing it as an all-new model and the next generation of its flagship three-row SUV. The redesign brings a more upright, architectural exterior and a longer 116.9-inch wheelbase.

Most versions measure 199.2 inches long, while the XRT PRO stretches to 200.4 inches. The additional size is not merely a styling exercise: it supports the Palisade’s role as a family hauler with three rows, substantial cargo space, and available towing equipment. The exact interior layout and usable space still depend on the trim, powertrain, drivetrain, and seven- or eight-passenger seating configuration.
| Specification | 2026 Palisade figure |
|---|---|
| Wheelbase | 116.9 inches |
| Length | 199.2 inches on most trims; 200.4 inches for XRT PRO |
| Width without mirrors | 78 inches |
| Height | 69.5 inches |
| Minimum ground clearance | 7.4 inches on most trims; 8.4 inches for XRT PRO |
| Maximum cargo volume | Up to 86.7 cubic feet with the second- and third-row seats folded |
| Cargo volume with the third row folded | 46.3 cubic feet, with the second row still in use |
Those published measurements should be treated as configuration-sensitive specifications rather than universal numbers for every Palisade. In particular, the XRT PRO’s added clearance and different equipment distinguish it from the regular trims, while hybrid and gasoline models may have different fitment details.
Two powertrains give buyers a real choice
The standard gasoline V6
The conventional U.S. powertrain is a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter direct-injected V6 making 287 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. It uses an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Front-wheel drive is available, and Hyundai’s HTRAC all-wheel drive is optional on most trims. HTRAC AWD is standard on the XRT PRO. Hyundai lists a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds when the Palisade is properly equipped and the trailer has brakes. Buyers should confirm the exact rating and required equipment for the specific vehicle they are considering rather than assuming every powertrain and trim has identical towing capability.
The first Palisade hybrid
The biggest mechanical news is the first-ever Palisade Hybrid. It pairs a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-four with two electric motors integrated into a six-speed automatic transmission. Hyundai quotes an estimated 329 combined horsepower and 339 lb.-ft. of torque.
Efficiency is the hybrid’s main reason for existing, although it does not sacrifice headline power. Hyundai lists EPA estimates as high as 33 mpg city, 35 mpg highway, and 34 mpg combined for the Hybrid Blue SEL and Hybrid Blue SEL Premium with front-wheel drive. Higher trims and all-wheel-drive versions receive lower ratings, so the 34-mpg figure should not be applied to every hybrid Palisade.
Hyundai has also promoted an estimated driving range of more than 600 miles. That is a useful indication of the hybrid’s long-distance potential, but it is not a universal EPA-rated range figure for every hybrid configuration. Actual range will vary with drivetrain, trim, weather, speed, load, and driving conditions.

2026 Palisade pricing: current figures versus launch pricing
There is a small but important pricing discrepancy in Hyundai’s published information. Hyundai’s July 14, 2025 launch announcement listed the gasoline SE with front-wheel drive at a $38,935 starting MSRP. Hyundai’s current U.S. consumer page now displays a $39,435 starting MSRP for the same basic gasoline SE FWD configuration.
The safest way to report the difference is to treat $38,935 as the launch-announcement price and $39,435 as the current displayed starting price as of August 12, 2026. Prices can change, and neither figure includes freight, taxes, title, license, options, dealer charges, or dealer-set pricing.

Which 2026 Palisade trim makes the most sense?
The right Palisade depends less on choosing the most expensive trim and more on deciding what matters most to your household.

These versions preserve the familiar engine and three-row format without paying for every luxury or off-road feature.
- Choose the hybrid if you drive a lot of family miles. The hybrid’s strongest argument is fuel economy and range. It is particularly compelling for commuting, school runs, and road trips where reducing fuel stops matters more than having the lowest possible purchase price.
- Choose the Calligraphy for the luxury-oriented experience. Hyundai positions it at the top of the range, with features such as 21-inch wheels, relaxation seating, and integrated dash cameras depending on configuration.
- Choose the XRT PRO for outdoor-focused use. It adds meaningful hardware, not just black trim and rugged styling. HTRAC AWD, an electronic rear limited-slip differential, all-terrain tires, extra ground clearance, front and rear recovery hooks, and an integrated tow hitch make it the most purpose-built Palisade for unpaved roads and outdoor gear.
The XRT PRO still should not be confused with a dedicated rock-crawling vehicle. The available research documents its hardware, but not independent off-road performance testing. Its practical advantage is improved equipment and clearance for dirt roads, campsites, snow, and moderate outdoor use—not a promise that it can tackle every technical trail.
A more useful family cabin, not just a larger body
The Palisade remains a three-row SUV with seven- or eight-passenger configurations depending on trim. Hyundai’s cabin technology and comfort highlights include first- and second-row Relaxation seating, Digital Key 2 Premium, an integrated dual-camera dash cam, and ten airbags.
Hyundai also lists third-row seat-belt pretensioners and force limiters. Its enhanced Safe Exit Assist system adds warning indicators on the rear door panels, giving rear passengers another visual warning when the system detects a potential hazard as they try to exit.
These features reinforce the Palisade’s family mission. Relaxation seating is aimed at long-distance comfort, Digital Key 2 Premium can simplify access for compatible users, and the dash camera is integrated rather than being an aftermarket device attached to the windshield. Availability can vary by trim and configuration, so shoppers should verify the window sticker rather than assuming every feature is standard on every Palisade.
Cargo space is a strength—but plan around three rows
Hyundai lists up to 86.7 cubic feet of cargo volume when both the second- and third-row seats are folded. With the third row folded and the second row still available for passengers, the published figure is 46.3 cubic feet.
That distinction matters in real family use. A seven- or eight-passenger SUV can carry a substantial amount of luggage with the third row down, but carrying all three rows in use creates a different storage challenge. Parents, pet owners, sports families, and outdoor users should measure the items they regularly transport instead of relying only on the maximum cargo number.
Protecting that much floor and cargo area is one of the few easy ownership decisions. Owners can start by comparing 2026 Hyundai Palisade floor liners and a 2026 Hyundai Palisade cargo mat or cargo net. Treat those as search terms, not universal fitment claims: catalog and marketplace listings may separate gasoline and hybrid models, and seating configuration can change the fit. Verify the model year, powertrain, drivetrain, row count, and whether the product protects folded seatbacks before ordering.
Buyers who prioritize factory fitment can also review Hyundai Palisade genuine accessories. OEM accessories may be the simpler choice when exact integration matters, while aftermarket products can offer different coverage or materials. In either case, confirm compatibility for the gasoline or hybrid vehicle and the specific seven- or eight-seat layout.

XRT PRO: the meaningful adventure upgrade
The XRT PRO gives the second-generation Palisade a clearer outdoor identity than the conventional trims. Its key additions include:
- HTRAC all-wheel drive
- An electronic rear limited-slip differential
- All-terrain tires
- Increased minimum ground clearance of 8.4 inches
- Front and rear recovery hooks
- An integrated tow hitch
Those additions are significant because they address traction, clearance, recovery, and towing preparation. They also make the XRT PRO more than an appearance package. However, the Palisade remains a large three-row crossover, and Hyundai’s published material does not establish independent trail capability, approach angles, departure angles, or rock-crawling performance. The sensible expectation is a more capable family SUV for gravel, snow, muddy access roads, and camping—not a specialized off-road machine.
Safety features are promising, but do not confuse testing selection with a rating
The redesigned Palisade includes ten airbags, third-row belt pretensioners and force limiters, and enhanced Safe Exit Assist among its highlighted safety equipment. Those are useful hardware and safety-system developments, but they do not replace checking current crash-test results.
NHTSA listed the 2026 Palisade among the vehicles selected for 2026 model-year testing. Selection for testing is not the same as a completed crash-test rating. Do not describe the Palisade as having a five-star NHTSA result or a particular IIHS rating unless that result has been independently verified and dated.
Important 2026 Palisade recall checks
As of August 12, 2026, shoppers should check the vehicle identification number before purchasing or taking delivery. Two NHTSA recall reports are especially relevant to certain 2026 Palisade and Palisade Hybrid vehicles:
- Recall 26V160: Certain Limited and Calligraphy vehicles may have powered second- and third-row seats that fail to detect a person and continue moving. That creates a trapping or injury risk. The report identifies 61,093 potentially affected vehicles.
- Recall 26V169: Certain Limited and Calligraphy vehicles may have damaged wiring at the third-row driver-side seat-belt buckle. The damage can result in an incorrect belt-status indication. The report identifies 46,787 potentially affected vehicles.
These campaigns do not mean every 2026 Palisade is affected, and the vehicle counts should not automatically be added together because recall populations can overlap. Before buying, use the VIN with the appropriate recall lookup and ask the dealer to confirm that all required repairs have been completed. For a vehicle already in your possession, follow the recall notice and dealer instructions rather than relying on a general trim-level assumption.

The 2026 Palisade is available to purchase or lease at many U.S. dealerships as of the research date. Hyundai’s consumer site provides live-inventory and build-and-price tools, but supply is not uniform across the country. The mix of gasoline and hybrid vehicles, dealer pricing, incentives, and available colors or equipment can vary by region.
That regional variation is especially important for the hybrid and XRT PRO. A buyer may find that a nearby dealer has several gasoline Palisades but few hybrids, or that the desired seating and drivetrain combination must be ordered or located elsewhere. Check local inventory instead of treating national availability as a guarantee.
For maintenance, Hyundai provides separate digital owner manuals for the 2026 Palisade and 2026 Palisade Hybrid. Owners should follow the maintenance schedule in the manual that matches their vehicle, use the correct gasoline-versus-hybrid information, and retain maintenance records. Hyundai recommends authorized dealers for maintenance and repair, and its warranty handbook emphasizes following the owner’s manual schedule and keeping documentation. Specific service intervals and costs should be confirmed for the exact configuration rather than guessed from the gasoline model.

What buyers should verify before signing
- Confirm the current price. Use the dealer’s written vehicle price and account for freight, options, taxes, title, license, and dealer charges.
- Confirm the powertrain. Make sure the vehicle is the hybrid or V6 version you intended to buy, and check the drivetrain because fuel economy varies significantly between FWD and AWD.
- Check the seat count and cargo layout. Verify whether the vehicle is configured for seven or eight passengers and whether the cargo measurements meet your needs with the third row raised.
- Check the VIN for open recalls. Pay particular attention to recalls 26V160 and 26V169 on applicable Limited and Calligraphy vehicles.
- Verify accessory fitment. Floor liners, cargo mats, seatback protectors, cargo nets, and other accessories may distinguish gasoline from hybrid models and may depend on the seating configuration.
- Use the correct owner’s manual. The 2026 Palisade and Palisade Hybrid have separate digital manuals and maintenance information.
Final verdict: the Palisade’s good news is its breadth
The 2026 Hyundai Palisade’s strongest improvement is not one isolated feature. It now covers more buyer priorities without abandoning the three-row format that made the model useful in the first place.
The hybrid gives high-mileage families a credible efficiency-focused option. The Calligraphy moves the SUV further toward luxury with comfort and technology features. The XRT PRO adds genuine traction, clearance, recovery, and towing hardware for outdoor-oriented owners. Meanwhile, the gasoline V6 remains available for buyers who prefer its conventional powertrain.
The cautions are equally clear: current pricing is different from the launch announcement, fuel economy depends heavily on trim and drivetrain, the 600-plus-mile figure is an estimate rather than a universal EPA range rating, accessory fitment is not automatically interchangeable between gas and hybrid models, and certain Limited and Calligraphy vehicles require a VIN-specific recall check.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the 2026 Hyundai Palisade an all-new model?
Yes. Hyundai describes the 2026 Palisade as an all-new second-generation model. It has a new upright exterior, a longer 116.9-inch wheelbase, a first-ever hybrid powertrain, and the new adventure-oriented XRT PRO trim.
How much does the 2026 Hyundai Palisade cost?
As of August 12, 2026, Hyundai’s U.S. consumer page lists the gasoline SE FWD at $39,435 before freight, taxes, title, license, options, and dealer charges. Other listed starting prices include $49,870 for the gasoline XRT PRO, $54,560 for the gasoline Calligraphy, $47,520 for the Hybrid SEL Premium, and $56,780 for the Hybrid Calligraphy.
Does every 2026 Palisade Hybrid have a 600-mile range?
No. Hyundai has promoted an estimated range of more than 600 miles, but that should not be treated as a universal EPA-rated figure for every hybrid configuration. Trim, drivetrain, weather, speed, payload, and driving conditions affect range.
Is the 2026 Palisade XRT PRO a serious off-road vehicle?
The XRT PRO is better equipped for outdoor use than the regular trims, with HTRAC AWD, an electronic rear limited-slip differential, all-terrain tires, 8.4 inches of ground clearance, recovery hooks, and an integrated tow hitch. It should still be viewed as a capable family crossover rather than a dedicated rock-crawling vehicle.
Are all 2026 Hyundai Palisades affected by the current recalls?
No. Recalls 26V160 and 26V169 apply to certain 2026 Palisade and Palisade Hybrid Limited and Calligraphy vehicles. Buyers should check the specific VIN and confirm that recall repairs have been completed.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: The 2026 Hyundai Palisade is genuinely next-generation news because it combines a useful hybrid, a more premium family cabin, and a hardware-rich XRT PRO with the familiar gasoline V6 and three-row layout. Choose by mission—hybrid for high mileage, Calligraphy for comfort, XRT PRO for outdoor equipment—and verify the exact price, EPA rating, fitment, and recall status for the vehicle in front of you.
