The U.S.-market 2025 Polestar 3 Long range Dual motor uses a computer-controlled rear torque-vectoring system to help the SUV turn into corners and resist understeer. Independent reviewers describe the result as agile and planted, making “fun to drive” a fair editorial impression—not a measured specification. The feature is listed for the two dual-motor versions, not the rear-wheel-drive Single motor.
What torque vectoring does in the 2025 Polestar 3
Polestar specifies true torque vectoring on the rear axle of the U.S. 2025 Long range Dual motor variants. The system monitors wheelspin and actively redistributes power to the rear wheel with more grip. Polestar also lists a rear motor disconnect clutch for the dual-motor versions. The Single motor is rear-wheel drive and is not listed with this torque-vectoring system. Polestar’s U.S. specifications
In practical terms, the system can send more drive to the outside rear wheel as the SUV turns. Car and Driver says that this subtle overdrive helps the Polestar 3 turn in and fend off understeer. Polestar’s MY25 fleet brochure describes the intended benefit as: “Torque vectoring increases turn-in and control.” That sentence is the manufacturer’s description; the cornering impressions are reviewers’ observations, not a guarantee for every road, tire, or driving maneuver. Which 2025 U.S. Polestar 3 versions have it?
Polestar’s published U.S. specifications distinguish the rear-drive Single motor from the two all-wheel-drive versions. Figures below are manufacturer specifications; range is estimated EPA range and is not a promise of real-world distance.

Polestar lists a 111 kWh battery for each U.S. version. Its dual-chamber active air suspension is said by the manufacturer to adapt to sensor input 500 times a second; that is a Polestar-published figure, not an independent measurement. Polestar U.S. performance details
How reviewers describe its cornering
Agility and a more planted feel
Car and Driver calls the Polestar 3’s handling “surprisingly agile” and reports that its torque-vectoring differential helps curb understeer and make the SUV feel more planted through fast corners. Those are impressions from driving coverage, not instrumented proof that every driver will feel the same effect. Car and Driver’s Polestar 3 review

Performance-pack acceleration: two different figures
Polestar lists 4.5 seconds from 0–60 mph for the U.S. 2025 Long range Dual motor with Performance pack. Car and Driver reports 3.9 seconds for its tested Dual Motor Performance vehicle. The first is a manufacturer estimate and the second is the publication’s test result; the available information does not establish a full explanation for the difference, so they should not be treated as directly interchangeable. The trade-off beyond the corners
A first-drive account praises the SUV’s ability to flow through corners, while noting that its sloping roofline encroaches on cargo space. The handling focus therefore comes with a practical packaging consideration for buyers who regularly carry bulky items. Car and Driver’s first-drive coverage

What the Performance pack changes
The Performance pack raises Polestar’s published U.S. output and torque figures, lowers its estimated EPA range relative to the standard Dual motor, and adds chassis and wheel-and-tire hardware. The listed figures do not establish that any one added component causes the range difference.
For replacement tires, do not rely on “22-inch” alone: confirm the exact tire size, load rating, wheel, and fitment for the specific vehicle before ordering. The 22-inch custom-developed Pirelli P Zero description applies to the Performance-pack setup, not every Polestar 3. Polestar U.S. specifications

Whether it's daily commuting or long-distance travel, users can synchronously recharge their devices during navigation or phone calls, completely eliminating battery anxiety and making mobile phone use more convenient and worry free during driving.
Scope: 2025 model year, U.S. specifications
These comparisons use Polestar’s U.S. model-year 2025 specifications and estimated EPA range figures. They should not be mixed with global WLTP figures or specifications for later model years; manufacturer pages can change as new versions are introduced. Polestar’s MY25 brochure also publishes 360 kW and 840 Nm for the dual-motor powertrain, while its U.S. page expresses the standard Dual motor output as 489 hp and 620 lb-ft.
