No—the reported Tesla Model Y 0% APR offer is not the current offer shown by Tesla. Notebookcheck reported on October 22, 2024, that Tesla had dropped the Full Self-Driving (Supervised) purchase requirement for a 0% APR loan on a 60-month term. As of October 8, 2026, Tesla’s U.S. offers page lists a different promotion: 1.49% APR for eligible Model Y trims for up to 72 months. Offers and eligibility can change, so check Tesla’s live terms before ordering.
What Tesla’s 2024 Model Y financing report said
Notebookcheck reported on October 22, 2024, that Tesla was offering 0% APR on the Model Y for a 60-month financing term without requiring buyers to purchase Full Self-Driving (Supervised). The report said the FSD purchase requirement had been removed; it did not mean that every applicant qualified for financing.
The report listed these terms and example figures:

The $581 payment was an example tied to the report’s vehicle and financing assumptions, including the down payment and federal tax credit. It was not a guaranteed payment for every buyer. The report said qualification depended on excellent credit and that Tesla could change or end the promotion. What Tesla’s offer page showed on October 8, 2026
Tesla’s U.S. offers page listed a 1.49% APR promotion for eligible Model Y trims for up to 72 months. Tesla’s stated conditions included well-qualified buyers with excellent credit, orders placed on or after September 3, 2026, and at least 5% down. The promotion excluded some vehicles and sales. Tesla also says offers may change or end and not all applicants qualify. This is a separate, later offer—not a continuation of the 2024 0% promotion. Check Tesla’s current U.S. offers and inventory terms before relying on a rate.

How Tesla financing eligibility works
A promotional APR is conditional, not a promise that every buyer will receive that rate. Tesla says financing requires a credit application and credit approval, and is available only in listed states. Tesla Support states: “A credit application using a hard credit pull will still be required to finance your vehicle purchase through Tesla.” The application can affect your credit report. Tesla’s financing support page has the application and approval information.
Tesla describes vehicle loan terms from 36 to 84 months and says buyers may also use third-party financing. Longer terms can have different rates and payment schedules; compare the full loan terms rather than treating a low monthly payment as the whole cost. Does the old deal mean FSD is included?
No. The October 2024 report described removing an FSD purchase requirement to qualify for the financing promotion; it did not say FSD was included with the vehicle. Tesla’s FSD Support page, checked October 8, 2026, says Full Self-Driving (Supervised) is available as a subscription for $99 USD per month and is not available for outright purchase. What to verify before placing an order
- Open Tesla’s live offers page and confirm the APR, eligible Model Y trim, loan term, order-date condition, and minimum down payment.
- Check whether your state, vehicle, and sale qualify; Tesla says some vehicles and sales are excluded.
- Submit a financing application and wait for approval before treating a promotional rate or payment as yours.
- Compare Tesla financing with third-party loan offers using the same term, down payment, and total amount financed.
