A June 2025 report showed what appeared to be an uncovered Model S in a blue finish, but it was not a Tesla unveiling and the report itself cautioned that the design might not be final. Tesla later described a Model S refresh in an official October 27, 2025 article. Its service manual identifies Frost Blue Metallic as paint code PB00; the available evidence does not establish that the car in the photo was definitively wearing that paint.
What the June 2025 sighting did—and did not—confirm
Notebookcheck’s Daniel Zlatev reported the sighting on June 12, 2025, updating the story on June 13. The image was credited to SongLeeYan on Reddit. The report described visible styling details, including a camera in the front fascia, but treated the apparent lack of camouflage as an observation rather than confirmation of a final production design.
That distinction matters: the image was not an official Tesla reveal, and the report did not establish the car’s exact paint option, trim, market, or production status. It is best understood as an early visual report, not a specification sheet.
What Tesla later confirmed about the refresh
In an article dated October 27, 2025, Tesla described a more refined Model S and Model X, writing: “13 years after we produced the first Model S and 9 years after the first Model X, we are introducing an even more refined version of both vehicles.” Tesla’s description of the Model S refresh includes:

What Tesla calls the blue paint
Tesla’s 2021-and-newer Model S service manual lists PB00 — Frost Blue Metallic. The manual says owners can find a vehicle’s paint code in Car Details or on a label on the vehicle. This establishes the official paint name and code, but it does not prove that the photographed car had PB00 paint or that the option was available on every trim or in every market.

Model S availability and current listed performance
Tesla’s current Model S page says the vehicle is no longer in production, though pre-owned non-Signature Edition inventory vehicles may still be available. The page lists these specifications for the two trims:
| Trim | EPA-estimated range | 0–60 mph | Peak power |
|---|---|---|---|
| Model S | 410 miles | 3.1 seconds | 670 hp |
| Model S Plaid | 368 miles | 1.99 seconds | 1,020 hp |
These are Tesla’s posted figures, not independent test results. Range is explicitly labeled EPA-estimated on Tesla’s page; the performance figures are listed separately by trim and should not be combined into one set of Model S specifications.
