The UK-market TC Max 2.2 is rated for a maximum 59 mph, but reviewers found it more at home in city traffic than on faster roads. Its published range figures are conditional test claims, not a dependable promise for every route.
What the UK-market TC Max 2.2 offers
Vmoto UK’s 2024 specification sheet lists the TC Max 2.2 as an L3e-A1 motorcycle, a homologation category comparable to a 125cc motorcycle. It gives 3.9 kW rated power, 5.1 kW maximum power and a 59 mph maximum speed. Licensing rules depend on where you ride and your circumstances, so the category comparison is not a substitute for checking local requirements.

These figures describe the UK 2.2 sheet, not every TC Max sold in every year or market. For example, Move Electric’s summary of the version it reviewed gives a 2.7 kWh battery, 60 miles combined range, 60 mph top speed and 100 kg kerb weight. How far can it go on a charge?
There is no single established real-world range that applies to every TC Max commute. The UK 2.2 sheet claims 57 miles under a stated test averaging 28 mph, with a 75 kg rider and two batteries. A separate Super Soco Cyprus specification page states 110 km at 45 km/h with a 75 kg rider. The different figures and conditions make it important to identify the bike, battery setup and test assumptions before comparing range claims.

Neither figure guarantees the distance available at unrestricted speed, on a hilly route, in cold weather or with a heavier load. The cited sources do not establish a universal real-world or winter range, or a sustained maximum-speed range. For planning, compare your actual round trip with the claim for the exact version and leave a reserve rather than budgeting every stated mile as usable.
One ride report offers context, not a controlled range test: Visordown’s Alex Strange rode about 22 miles around London, mostly at 20–30 mph, and reported the indicated battery falling from 94% to 41%. The dashboard range estimate changed from 77 to 35 miles. That was one route on one version, so it should not be extrapolated into a guaranteed range. What is the ride like on a daily commute?
City streets and short trips
Reviewers describe the TC Max as most convincing where traffic is slow or stop-start. Move Electric praised its light, agile handling in town, and Devitt’s Elle Blomfield said “the bike is really in its element in town.” Visordown reported three riding modes; mode 1 was capped at around 35 mph and offered the greatest range in that rider’s experience. That makes a city-heavy commute a more natural fit than a route that demands prolonged fast riding.
A-roads and faster suburban stretches
A 59 mph maximum on the UK 2.2 sheet sets a limit, not a promise that the bike will feel relaxed or hold the expected pace on every faster road. Devitt’s Blomfield tested a 12-mile round-trip commute mixing A-roads with congested urban streets, but said she did not test range in unrestricted mode. She found it more at home in town. If your route depends on keeping up with faster traffic for long stretches, the TC Max’s stated top speed and the reviewers’ reservations about faster-road use are reasons to assess the route carefully.

Visordown’s review also describes the rider favoring city streets over extended use at maximum speed. Its roughly 22-mile London ride was mostly at 20–30 mph, not a test of sustained fast-road range.
Charging: where the removable battery helps
The UK 2.2 sheet specifies a 4.5-hour charge time and 0.75 kW charging power. Reviewers describe a removable battery that can be charged indoors from a standard domestic plug, a practical advantage if the bike is parked outside and you can carry the pack to a socket. Confirm the charger supplied, battery configuration and how manageable the pack is to remove and carry on the exact bike: the UK sheet cited here does not state battery pack weight.

Charging figures differ by market and configuration. The Cyprus page gives 8–9 hours for standard charging and five hours for fast charging at 72 V/10 A with a single battery. Some reported drawbacks relate to specific reviewers’ bikes, not verified faults across all model years. Move Electric described the brakes as weak-feeling and noted no ABS on its reviewed version. It also raised concerns about display visibility in wet conditions, plastics that felt flimsy, and an alarm that activated randomly. Visordown cautioned about alarm and key-fob limitations. Check the year and version in person, including braking equipment, display legibility and alarm operation, rather than assuming every TC Max has the same issues.
