What Steve Saleen revealed at the museum
The S11 display debuted at the opening of The Birth of the American Supercar, a year-long exhibition at LeMay – America’s Car Museum in Tacoma, Washington. Saleen guest-curated the show, which examines the evolution of American supercars and includes vehicles from manufacturers such as Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, Saleen, Vector, Cunningham, and Hennessey. The museum lists the exhibition dates as October 25, 2025, through October 2026, with four significant refreshes planned. See the museum’s exhibition details.
At the reveal, the S11 was represented by a full-size clay model and design sketches of its interior and exterior. Saleen’s announcement described this as a design debut; it did not present a completed, road-ready car. Saleen’s October 2025 announcement likewise said further technical details were to come.
Visitors could weigh in on selected design details
The museum invited visitors to vote on certain choices as the clay model evolved during the exhibition. Examples included headlight and taillight designs, side skirts, and the angles of the rear greenhouse. The public input applied to selected details; the museum did not suggest visitors would determine the entire car’s design. Steve Saleen described the voting as a way to hear from enthusiasts at the museum and around the world, saying that participating fans could choose details intended for the final product. Saleen called the initiative “American Idle”.

Where the S11 program stands
Saleen Automotive’s May 27, 2026 SEC filing says the S11 remained in design and development. The company anticipated completing the final design by January 2027, then estimated about 2 to 2.5 years for engineering, validation, and production readiness after a design freeze. Those are company estimates, not a promised launch date: the filing explicitly cautions that the S11 may not be completed on that timeline or successfully brought to market. The timing therefore does not establish when a production S11 might reach customers. Engineering, validation, and readiness are stages that follow the design freeze in the company’s estimate; the filing provides no confirmed delivery date or assurance of production.

Saleen’s announcement said additional engine, suspension, aerodynamic, and technical information would follow. Its June 2026 annual report also described the reveal as a clay model and sketches, with engine, aerodynamic, and chassis details expected in coming months. The cited company and museum materials do not confirm the S11’s final engine configuration or output, price, production quantity, delivery date, or whether orders are available. The museum’s page says specifications including power output and body materials would be revealed later. The SEC filing and museum exhibit page do not establish those specifications.
Although the exhibit announcement frames the S11 as Saleen’s next-generation supercar, the current primary materials cited here do not confirm a mid-engine layout. Treat “mid-engine” as unverified rather than a settled S11 specification.

The S7 in the exhibit is a separate Saleen
Saleen also situated the S11 in the context of its earlier S7 supercar. The two names refer to different cars, and an S7 collectible is not an S11 replica. Saleen’s catalog lists an S7 diecast and a book about the LeMay museum retrospective; the S7 product page identifies the collectible as a Motor Max 1:18-scale model.
