The pickup behind the “Comanche vibes” headline is Slate Auto’s Slate Truck, a small, two-door electric pickup. Slate lists its Blank Slate at $24,950, but with the $1,450 destination charge the starting subtotal is $26,400 before taxes, title, registration, options, or other fees. The Jeep Comanche comparison is a visual impression, not evidence of a design or engineering connection.
What is the Slate Truck?
Slate Auto describes the Slate Truck as a two-seat electric pickup that can be reconfigured with kits, including options that turn it into a five-seat SUV. The company also lists Open Air and Cargo kits. That adaptable, relatively compact format is the useful context for the Comanche comparison: both are pickup-shaped vehicles, but the resemblance should not be mistaken for shared technology or lineage.
Slate’s official pages identify the product and its planned configurations, but do not establish a connection to the Jeep Comanche. The “Comanche vibes” wording comes from enthusiast discussion and is best read as opinion about appearance, not a verified historical or technical claim. The forum thread carrying the headline documents that phrasing; Slate’s FAQ describes the truck itself.
How much does the Slate electric pickup cost?
Slate’s FAQ lists the Blank Slate at $24,950 plus a $1,450 destination charge. That makes the stated subtotal $26,400 before taxes, title, registration, options, or other fees. So “$25k” is headline shorthand for the vehicle’s listed base price, not an all-in delivered price.

Slate advertises 205 miles of range on its official product page. In a June 24, 2026 release, the company said the projected figure approximates the EPA test cycle and is not an official EPA-estimated range. Is the Slate Truck actually related to the Jeep Comanche?
No such relationship is established by the available company information. The Comanche reference in the headline signals a perceived resemblance; it does not demonstrate that Slate borrowed the Jeep’s design, uses its platform, or shares engineering with it. A technical comparison would require specific Comanche model-year evidence alongside Slate’s evolving preproduction specifications.
