Ariel’s E-Nomad is a fully electric off-road sports-car concept, not another SUV: the UK maker says it weighs 896 kg and pairs a 210 kW motor with a 41 kWh battery. Those are concept claims, not confirmed production specifications, and the announcement does not establish that the vehicle can be ordered.
What is the Ariel E-Nomad?
Ariel describes the E-Nomad as an all-electric version of its Nomad go-anywhere sports car. Its open, exposed-wheel layout and off-road focus make it a different kind of vehicle from a conventional electric SUV or crossover. The “sick of heavy SUVs” framing is a reader’s point of comparison, not evidence that every electric SUV is heavy.

The “up to” range figure is a claim, not an independently verified real-world estimate. The announcement does not specify a test cycle or conditions, so it should not be treated as a direct comparison with published range figures for other vehicles.
What is unusual about its bodywork?
Flax-fibre composite panels
Ariel says the E-Nomad uses flax-fibre bio-composite body panels that are 9% lighter than carbon fibre and save 73% CO₂. The announcement does not provide independent validation or define the comparison basis for those percentages, so they should be read as company claims rather than established lifecycle results.

The E-Nomad presents Ariel’s take on an electric off-road sports car with a claimed low mass, rear-wheel drive and compact battery capacity. Its stated range, acceleration and material benefits remain concept claims; the announcement alone does not show how a production version would perform, what it would cost, or whether customers will be able to buy one.
