The Roshel Senator MRAP is a configurable, mine-resistant armored vehicle designed to protect its crew from ballistic and explosive threats. Its V-shaped hull is intended to redirect blast effects away from the crew compartment. One key qualification: Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence says earlier Senator APC variants used Ford F-550 chassis, but the enhanced-protection MRAP came later; the available sources do not establish that this MRAP variant is F-550-based.
Is the Senator MRAP built on a Ford F-550?
Not on the evidence available for this specific variant. Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence distinguishes the earlier Senator APCs, which it says were built on Ford F-550 chassis, from the enhanced-protection Senator MRAP developed later. That history does not prove the MRAP uses the same chassis, so describing the MRAP itself as F-550-based would go beyond the published information.
How the Senator MRAP is designed to handle blasts
The vehicle’s central blast-protection feature is its V-shaped body. Roshel and Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence describe the shape as directing blast waves and fragments away from the crew compartment. This is a design purpose, not a promise that occupants will avoid injury in every blast.
Roshel also lists a 360-degree ballistic capsule and mine-protected seats. Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence describes armored steel, ballistic glass, run-flat tires, and a central tire inflation system. Its May 2026 report says the delivered vehicles had CBRN filtration supplying clean air to a sealed cabin; that equipment description applies to those reported vehicles and should not be assumed for every configuration.

This is a specialized vehicle presented for institutional procurement, not a typical consumer car listing. Roshel provides a quote process and identifies GSA Contract 47QSWA22D001R. A U.S. General Services Administration contract attachment dated 15 January 2026 lists Senator MRAP entries RBB-177 and RBB-177b, with a mine-resistant description, protection wording, equipment, and seating up to 10.
