Those are historical New Zealand-dollar prices, not confirmed 2026 offers. Romotow now directs buyers to request a quote for its 7 Series and contact the company about custom 8 Series orders.
How much did the Romotow T8 cost?
In its July 12, 2023 report, New Atlas reported these New Zealand-dollar prices for the three T8 trims:

New Atlas compared the Pure’s NZ$375,000 figure with a NZ$429,000 launch price. These figures describe the 2023 report, not current prices. Romotow’s legacy T8 page says quoted prices exclude GST, shipping, and applicable local import duties, so even the historical figures should not be read as a delivered, tax-inclusive total.
Romotow’s current purchase page says prospective 7 Series buyers should submit an order enquiry to confirm the model, options, and price. For custom 8 Series orders, it asks buyers to contact the company for an initial consultation. It does not publish a current T8 price.

How does the Romotow’s rotating cabin work?
When being towed, the cabin sits within the footprint of the deck. At a campsite, an automated hydraulic system pushes the cabin outward and rotates it 90 degrees, placing the living space beside a separate covered deck. The arrangement expands the usable footprint without making the trailer’s full open width its towing width. New Atlas described the four-to-six-berth T8 and its rotating design in its 2022 launch coverage.
What is the difference between Shell, Pure, and Ultimate?
Shell: the unfinished, lower-cost starting point
The Shell’s NZ$295,000 2023 reported price bought the exterior and the core rotating structure, not a ready-to-use caravan interior. New Atlas reported that it retained the hydraulic rotation system, aluminum monocoque cabin, steel chassis, and insulated composite walls, roof, and floor, while omitting interior walls, equipment, and amenities. Romotow pitched it as a blank canvas that could be adapted for uses such as a mobile office, promotional vehicle, or portable cafe.

Its lower entry price therefore came with a substantial fit-out requirement. Buyers would need to account for the work and cost of completing the interior rather than comparing the Shell directly with a fully equipped caravan.
Pure: a fitted caravan at a lower specification
At NZ$375,000 in New Atlas’s 2023 report, Pure was the middle trim and the closest match to the original T8 configuration, though with a lower specification than Ultimate. It offered a complete living layout without the full set of premium features reported for the top trim.

Ultimate: the premium equipment package
New Atlas reported a NZ$475,000 price for Ultimate in 2023. Its listed equipment included air conditioning, a 400-Ah lithium battery, 790-W solar, upgraded audio, and air suspension. Ultimate was described as a two-sleeper as standard; an optional lift-away bed could increase sleeping capacity to four.
The practical comparison is not simply “basic versus better.” Shell may suit a buyer who needs a specialized shell and can manage a bespoke interior; Pure prioritizes a finished living setup; Ultimate bundles more equipment. Which makes sense depends on the intended use and the cost of options, fit-out, taxes, freight, and import charges.

What does Romotow sell now?
Romotow’s current models page is centered on its 7 Series, including the T7, P7, and P7X. The manufacturer lists a covered deck, push-button setup, monocoque composite construction, automated cabin rotation by plus or minus 90 degrees, independent suspension, automated levelling, and on- or off-grid options. Listed floor plans sleep four to seven. These are 7 Series details and should not be assumed to describe every T8 or custom 8 Series build.
Romotow describes the 8 Series as custom built to order. Its published specification page gives a towing length of 8,600 mm, body length excluding drawbar of 7,650 mm, height of 3,400 mm, internal height of 2,050 mm, towing width of 2,500 mm, open width of 7,400 mm, and approximate tare axle weight of 4,000 kg. The manufacturer warns that actual weight depends on specification; these measurements should not be treated as universal for all builds or transferred to the 2023 T8 configuration.

- For a 7 Series model, submit an order enquiry through Romotow’s purchase page and ask it to confirm the model, options, and price.
- For an 8 Series build, contact Romotow for the initial consultation it requires for custom orders.
- Ask for a written total that identifies the selected specification, taxes, shipping, and any applicable import duties. Romotow says it sells direct and describes production after ordering, shipping to distribution centres in New Zealand and Australia or to a chosen address at extra cost, and payment milestones.
