PerthNow reported that a car and truck crashed near Roe Highway and Kalamunda Road in Maida Vale just after 2pm on Friday, 28 August 2015. Its report described fluid on the road and one person trapped; Main Roads WA later reported that the crash had cleared at about 3.30pm.
Where and when did the crash happen?
PerthNow reporter Phil Hickey published the account at 3:59pm on 28 August 2015. It placed the collision near the Roe Highway and Kalamunda Road intersection in Maida Vale, shortly after 2pm that Friday. PerthNow’s report described the vehicles only as a car and a truck; it did not identify their makes or models.
What was reported at the scene?
The contemporaneous report said there were reports of fluid spilled on the roadway and one person trapped. St John Ambulance, police and firefighters were reported to be at the scene. These were details reported while the incident was unfolding, not a later account of the person’s condition.
When was the crash cleared?
PerthNow attributed an update to Main Roads WA saying the crash had cleared at about 3.30pm on 28 August 2015. This is a historical clearance update and does not describe current traffic or road conditions.

What is not established by the report?
- The report does not identify the person said to be trapped or say whether they were freed, injured or taken to hospital.
- It does not explain how the collision happened, assign fault or describe any later investigation.
- It gives no vehicle makes or models.
PerthNow also mentioned a fatal crash at the same intersection on 20 August 2015. That was a separate incident and should not be confused with the car-and-truck crash reported on 28 August.
