Its reported current tune produces 1,246 hp and 1,000 ft-lb at the rear wheels; the 2,000-hp figure describes the engine’s stated capability at a higher boost level, not the car’s reported current output.
How much horsepower does the Ringbrothers INVADR make?
Ringbrothers’ November 5, 2024 release gives two figures for the build, under different conditions:
| Configuration | Reported output | What the figure means |
|---|---|---|
| Current E85 tune at 32 psi | 1,246 hp and 1,000 ft-lb at the rear wheels | The release’s reported output for the car’s current tune. |
| Engine capability at 50 psi | Up to 2,000 hp | A stated capability at higher boost, not the reported output of the current tune. |
The distinction matters: the headline 2,000-hp number is not a claim that INVADR is presently running that output. The builder’s release reports no instrumented acceleration or top-speed test, so the output figures should not be mistaken for independently verified performance testing. What engine is in INVADR?
The car uses a Duttweiler Performance 3.8-liter Buick V6, described in the release as all-aluminum, with twin Precision 62 mm turbochargers. Its listed engine components include six-bolt mains, custom hand-ported aluminum cylinder heads, a Bryant Racing billet crankshaft, and a bespoke intake manifold. The E85 fuel and boost level are part of the stated current-tune context; the 50-psi figure refers to the engine’s claimed potential.

What makes the bodywork and finish distinctive?
Ringbrothers says the project took 5,000 hours. The changes include stainless-steel front and rear bumpers in place of the original plastic pieces, machined aluminum bumper guards, subtly adjusted front-fender angles, extended rocker panels, and a Ringbrothers-designed carbon-fiber hood scoop intended to help extract heat. The custom BASF Glasurit waterborne finish is called “Dark Vader Gray.”
What did Ringbrothers say about its performance?
Co-owner Mike Ring described the car’s acceleration as “nothing short of violent” and said it “may well be the fastest car we’ve built to date.” Those are the builder’s promotional comments, not a timed test or a verified speed record. The available release does not provide instrumented acceleration or top-speed results. The release and quoted remarks
