Its modular design was intended to make transport and repairs easier, and contemporary reports described battery swaps. Published speed, ride-time and price figures are historical claims—not current quotes or independently verified test results.
What is the Radinn G2X?
The G2X is a powered personal watercraft, not a conventional surfboard: an electric propulsion unit drives it across the water while the rider stands on the board and controls it with a handheld controller. Radinn’s second-generation Jetpack appeared in 2018, the period associated with the G2X. Later generations included the G3, reported as launched in May 2020, and the X-SPORT, identified as a 2022 model. Those milestones describe product history, not present-day availability. How does the modular design work?
The system separates into the board, the Jetpack propulsion module and the battery Powerpack. Cobra International’s 2021 collaboration announcement describes Powerpacks fitting into a deck pocket and the Jetpack into the board’s base. A 2019 account specifically says a rider could swap batteries, allowing one pack to charge while another was in use. The arrangement also offered a service advantage: Radinn Head of Brand Experience Alex Fuehrling said, “We learned that we needed to design it very modular, so we could ship just one module if a repair is needed.” Cobra International; Yachting Magazine
Modularity is not a guarantee that any battery or component will fit, or that replacement parts and service remain available. Before buying a used G2X or a spare pack, confirm compatibility with the exact board and Jetpack version, and establish whether a qualified service provider can supply and install the part. Cobra also said its work on a later board construction reduced board weight by around 25%; that is a manufacturing-partner claim about the development it described, not a measured G2X weight or performance result. How fast does it go, and how long does the battery last?
Launch-era and later reporting do not give one perfectly matching specification. New Atlas reported a top speed of about 31 mph (50 km/h) and roughly 25 minutes at full throttle from a standard 2.8-kWh battery. Yachting Magazine reported a speed of 27 knots. These are published figures for the configurations described by those outlets, not independent test results or guaranteed real-world performance. New Atlas; Yachting Magazine
Ride time depends on how the board is used; the cited 25-minute figure is specifically at full throttle, not a universal session length. Yachting Magazine also reported that an optional PowerPackXL was said to add 45 minutes, but that is a dated publication claim rather than a promise for every rider or condition. Yachting Magazine

- Programmable LED Underlighting - The mast head contains lights that illuminate the underside of your board. Great for cruising in twilight.
- Fully Featured Digital Display- Both Evo Batteries include a digital display that allows you to program, diagnose, and observe the status of your Waydoo.
- Power Sharing (Available with Fast Charger) - The fast charger contains a built-in inverter and includes a power strip. Use your Evo battery as a power bank while you’re off the grid!
- Modular Power Unit Design - The fuselage and mast of the Waydoo detach from each other. This allows for mast and motor replacement for a fraction of the cost. Want to upgrade to a carbon mast or a larger motor? It’s easy with the Evo.
- Ride Sensor Capable (Performance Board) - The Evo is equipped with ride sensor technology, and will have the ability to assist the rider with stability through throttle adjustment
What did the G2X cost when reported?
Prices below were reported in 2019 by Yachting Magazine in U.S. dollars. They are historical figures, not current prices or evidence that the G2X or accessories can still be purchased.
| Item | 2019 reported price and detail |
|---|---|
| Basic package | $11,490; included a board, one battery and an overnight charger. |
| Additional battery pack | $3,490. |
| PowerPackXL | $4,990; reported as providing an extra 45 minutes. |
| Ultra-fast charger | $1,695; reported full charge time was two hours. |
| Overnight charger | About eight hours to charge, according to the report; no separate price was stated. |
New Atlas separately reported launch pricing of €9,900 and an optional larger battery. That euro figure belongs to launch-era reporting and should not be treated as a current quote or directly compared with the 2019 U.S. package price without accounting for timing, market and package differences. What should a prospective owner verify now?
The historical reports do not establish whether the G2X is currently sold, what it costs now, or whether manufacturer support and compatible replacement parts are available. For a used board or potential purchase, check the specific unit and its support situation before relying on old specifications or prices:
- Confirm the board, Jetpack and battery are the correct compatible components for that G2X.
- Ask whether the battery holds charge and whether a replacement Powerpack and charger can actually be sourced.
- Verify the condition and operation of the propulsion system, controller and battery warnings; Yachting Magazine described battery-warning lights and vibration, as well as app-connected GPS data, but did not establish present-day app or service availability. Yachting Magazine
- Get current, written details for any warranty, repair support, charger compatibility and parts availability rather than assuming the modular design guarantees service.
- Compare the complete system and included battery/charger, not just a board-only asking price.
What safety and legal information applies?
The Radinn product manual states: “ALL PERSONS SHOULD WEAR A LIFEJACKET (PERSONAL FLOTATION DEVICE) WHILE OPERATING THIS WATERCRAFT.” Its exemption notice applies to jetboards purchased in the U.S. or Canada and gives a Coast Guard exemption date of March 3, 2022, with an expiration date of March 3, 2027. This notice is limited in scope and does not establish whether a particular board may be used at a particular location or what rules apply there. Check current local requirements before riding. Radinn Product Manual
SeaBreeze Boat Service’s 2022 release also advises wearing a life jacket and checking and following the laws, regulations and local rules for the area. SeaBreeze Boat Service via PR TIMES
