The Club Car XRT1550 with IntelliTach received mixed-to-strong scores in Successful Farming’s 2012 utility-vehicle evaluation: its best category was fit and finish at 4.2 out of 5, while acceleration and noise each scored 3.1. The evaluators rode in dry, dusty, wet, and muddy conditions. The test page reports a total average score of 44.6, but its numeric draft and stability results are not visible in the accessible text.
How the 2012 XRT1550 evaluation worked
Successful Farming published the evaluation on April 13, 2012. After each ride, evaluators completed a 12-question form and rated the vehicle on a scale from 1 to 5, with 5 the highest score. The rides covered dry, dusty, wet, and muddy conditions. The article also says engineers performed draft and stability tests. Successful Farming’s 2012 test report is the source for the ratings and methods.

The 44.6 figure is reproduced as the article reports it; the page does not explain its relationship to the twelve category ratings, so it should not be treated as a recalculated average. Fit and finish was the highest category score. Acceleration and noise tied for the lowest.
What the test does—and does not—show
The evaluators’ scores provide a record of their impressions across the listed categories and riding conditions. They are not a current comparison against other utility vehicles or ATVs, and the article does not supply enough accessible results to draw a numerical conclusion about draft or stability.

The test article describes its tipping-test setup as using full fuel tanks with no driver, passengers, or cargo. It notes that some values were calculated, draft was limited by traction, and a tow-line load cell measured draft with values smoothed over half-second intervals. However, the actual tipping-angle and draft/stability results are absent from the accessible article text, as are its specification and feature tables. Those results cannot be responsibly supplied from the method notes alone.
How the tested vehicle relates to the XRT1550 sold today
Club Car’s current US XRT1550 page lists a two-seat utility vehicle, 20 horsepower, and a listed top speed of 25 mph. It describes four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes, an aluminum frame, a 13-position adjustable driver’s seat, coil-over front shocks, and IntelliTrak automatic all-wheel drive. Club Car says the system senses the ground and shifts as needed; that is the manufacturer’s feature description, not a finding from the 2012 evaluation. - This seat may fit the models listed, but some adjustments could be required for proper installation. The most reliable way to confirm fitment is by checking the bolt pattern measurements shown in the images and comparing them to your original seat. This seat requires standard 5/16"-18 UNC RH thread bolts for mounting (NOT INCLUDED). Applications with pivot rods may need a bracket (NOT INCLUDED). The original seat switch may not work for this seat
Those current specifications should not be assigned to the exact vehicle tested in 2012. Club Car’s sell sheet, revised February 2024, lists series configurations that include a 20.1-hp, 675-cc air-cooled Kawasaki gas engine or a 20-hp, 719-cc liquid-cooled Kubota diesel engine. It gives a bed-capacity range of 800–1,050 pounds depending on configuration. The sheet also describes hydraulic disc brakes, a four-point ROPS, retractable belts, and a 2-inch receiver hitch, while warning that specifications and options can change and that listed or pictured equipment may not be available on every build. These are series-level details, not confirmation of the 2012 test vehicle’s equipment.
A 2015 Club Car family brochure distinguishes the XRT1550 from the XRT1550 IntelliTach and associates the IntelliTach version with a 20-hp, 719-cc liquid-cooled Kubota diesel engine and a hydraulic tool system. That brochure documents a historical configuration; it does not establish which engine or equipment was used in the 2012 evaluation.

What IntelliTach was designed to do
Club Car’s 2015 brochure describes IntelliTach as a fully hydraulic, quick-changing tool system and names optional plow, bucket, and forklift attachments. This documents the system’s intended work-tool versatility, not attachments used during the 2012 ride evaluation. Before buying an implement, confirm its fitment for the vehicle’s model year and exact hydraulic configuration, along with present availability, with Club Car or a dealer. The brochure does not establish that every named attachment fits every XRT1550 IntelliTach build.

The 2012 scores are useful as historical evaluation data, but they are not a current head-to-head buying verdict. A meaningful comparison with another vehicle would need matched configurations and use cases, including powertrain, passenger capacity, rated payload and towing capacity, AWD engagement, ground clearance and suspension, safety equipment, tool interface, maintenance access, and test conditions. The published ratings alone do not establish how the XRT1550 compares with a current competitor on those measures.
