The company said the VBox-verified run was the fastest lap there by a production, pure-combustion road car. That is Praga’s category-specific claim—not an unqualified all-time record for the former Top Gear test track.
What Praga said the Bohema achieved
In an announcement dated 29 May 2025, Praga reported a 1:09.8 lap at Dunsfold Aerodrome, the circuit used for the former Top Gear test track. Praga said the time was verified using VBox timing and that Collins drove on standard road tyres. The company also said he drove the car to the circuit. Praga’s lap announcement

Praga described the result as the fastest lap of Dunsfold by a production pure-combustion road car. The wording matters: it identifies a particular class of car and does not establish that the Bohema set the fastest lap of any kind at the circuit. Nor do the available reports establish that this remains the latest time in that category as of 8 October 2026.
What Collins said about the lap

Praga quoted Collins saying: “Setting such a fast time at Dunsfold on regular road tyres was such a thrill.” He also noted the circuit’s demands: “I knew the Bohema would be fast, but Dunsfold’s tight turns and short straights are not ideal for a car that lives and breathes downforce.”
Praga’s release also quoted Collins calling the result “fastest ever pure-petrol road car at the first attempt.” That is his characterization in the manufacturer’s account; the more precise record description remains Praga’s claim about a production pure-combustion road car.

The Bohema is a road-legal, track-focused, two-seat, rear-wheel-drive car with a mid-engine layout and carbon-fibre monocoque and body, according to Praga’s specifications. The manufacturer lists a 3.8-litre engine producing 700 bhp at 6,800 rpm and 780 Nm from 3,000 to 6,000 rpm. It also claims 900 kg of downforce at 250 km/h, a top speed above 300 km/h and 0–100 km/h in under 3.5 seconds.
Weight figures differ by source and description. Praga’s lap announcement rounded the car’s weight to 1,000 kg, while its specifications page says it weighs under 1,000 kg. Top Gear reported 982 kg in Tom Ford’s August 2025 feature. These figures should be read with their attributions rather than treated as one independently verified measurement. Top Gear’s Bohema feature
Ford’s feature describes the engine as a Nissan R35 GT-R-derived VR38DETT twin-turbo V6 tuned by UK firm Litchfield, paired with a Hewland six-speed sequential gearbox. The review also discusses the clutch demands at low speeds: road legality does not necessarily mean everyday driving is effortless.
How to read the Dunsfold result
A lap time only works as a record claim when its category and measurement context are clear. Dunsfold times can refer to different kinds of cars and different kinds of runs, so they should not be combined into one leaderboard without checking what each result represents.
- Category: Praga’s claim is specifically for a production pure-combustion road car, not every vehicle or powertrain.
- Timing: Praga says the 1:09.8 was VBox-verified. The cited Top Gear feature provides vehicle context but is not an independent audit of that timing.
- Tyres and use: Praga says Collins used standard road tyres and drove the car to the circuit.
- Status: The available sources do not provide an authoritative, current complete Dunsfold record table or establish the category’s latest record as of 8 October 2026.
Praga later reported a private Dunsfold event for owners after Goodwood in July 2025, where Collins demonstrated lines and gave hot laps. That was a separate event from the timed lap announced in May. Praga’s owner-day report
