CEO Dr. Michael Leiters said at the company’s 2026 Annual General Meeting that Porsche is assessing the economic and technical feasibility of expanding into higher-margin segments. Separately, the company plans to grow Sonderwunsch, its bespoke customization program, and Porsche says several one-off projects are in progress.
Is Porsche building a new supercar?
Not as a confirmed product. Leiters said Porsche is considering models and variants “both above our current two-door sports cars and above the Cayenne.” The company is assessing whether such measures are economically and technically feasible; it has not announced a standalone supercar, a derivative, or a production decision. Porsche’s 2026 AGM speech and its 2026 annual press-conference coverage describe strategic possibilities, not a vehicle launch.
“Above” could mean a new model or a more exclusive derivative of an existing sports car. Porsche has not said which approach it is considering. There are no confirmed details on a name, powertrain, performance, price, production volume, or timing.
What Porsche has said about its strategy
The plan to explore higher-margin segments comes alongside an intention to expand customization. In his AGM remarks, Leiters said Porsche sees potential to grow programs such as Sonderwunsch, which he called popular and highly profitable. That statement establishes a strategic direction, not a business case for any particular new car.

Porsche reported €36.27 billion in group sales revenue, €413 million in group operating profit, and a 1.1% group operating return on sales for 2025. Its 5.5%–7.5% group operating return-on-sales figure for the 2026 financial year is a forecast, not a completed result. These figures provide financial context but do not show that a supercar has been approved or would be profitable. Porsche’s 2026 annual press conference provides the company’s figures and outlook.
What Porsche Sonderwunsch is—and what a one-off involves
Sonderwunsch is Porsche’s bespoke customization program. It ranges from selecting finishes on a new car to restoring and personalizing an existing one, and, at its most involved, developing a unique vehicle with newly made parts. Porsche describes three pillars:

- Factory Commission: Customers choose colors, trim, and individual options for a new car before delivery.
- Factory Re-Commission: Porsche restores and personalizes an existing vehicle according to an agreed brief, creating the owner’s preferred version of that car.
- Factory One-Off: Porsche develops a unique vehicle, potentially making new parts and working on either a new or classic car.
A Factory One-Off is not simply an unusually specified production car. Porsche begins with the customer’s idea and assesses feasibility. If the project proceeds, designers and engineers work with the customer on specifications; that initial stage can take up to a year, according to Porsche’s 2025 account. Development and production can involve design, engineering, mechanics, body work, upholstery, paint, and vehicle-history specialists. Technical and legal limits apply, and safety and legal compliance take priority. Porsche documents completed Factory One-Offs in its archive. Porsche’s Sonderwunsch explainer and its 2025 account of factory one-offs describe the program and process.
A one-off example: the 911 Classic Club Coupe
Porsche’s 911 Classic Club Coupe demonstrates how far the program can go: it combined a second-generation GT3 powertrain with first-generation GT3 body components, plus a new ducktail spoiler, a double-bubble roof, and an individualized Fuchs-style wheel. Porsche says the project took two and a half years. It is an illustration of bespoke work, not a timetable or recipe promised for every commission.

What’s known about upcoming one-off projects?
In an August 2026 interview with Car and Driver, Alexander Fabig, Porsche’s vice president of product and individualization offerings, said several long-term one-of-one projects were underway. He also said some customers had asked about four-door sports-car one-offs. Those inquiries do not amount to approval of a four-door model or a new production line. Fabig described Sonderwunsch as being about personal involvement and design as well as performance: “The majority of [Sonderwunsch] customers are not so much into the horsepower performance.”
Porsche’s 2025 feature said the company could handle up to 12 simultaneous Sonderwunsch one-off projects, with demand exceeding capacity at the time. That is a reported capacity figure from that year, not a current guarantee of availability. Porsche also said it wanted to expand the program, with growth primarily driven by Paint to Sample and interior individualization.

How long can a one-off take?
Fabig told Car and Driver that most one-off builds should take around three years. The Flachbau RS took 39 months and used three development cars, according to the interview. These are interview-attributed examples, not binding service timelines; a project’s scope and feasibility will affect its schedule.
How much does a Porsche one-off cost?
Car and Driver reported that reaching the concept phase carries a $150,000 fee and that building a one-off usually starts around $2 million, based on its interview with Fabig. These are not a universal published Porsche price list or guaranteed terms. Costs can vary by project and market, and the reported figures should not be treated as a quote for a particular commission.

How a potential supercar differs from a Sonderwunsch one-off
These are separate possibilities. A potential model above Porsche’s current sports cars would be a portfolio decision; Sonderwunsch creates bespoke vehicles for individual customers. One does not confirm the other.
