Porsche Centre Perth moved from Nedlands to a purpose-designed showroom on Scarborough Beach Road in Osborne Park, PerthNow reported on 23 June 2023. The new centre was described as Australia’s second Destination Porsche location, with consultation rooms, vehicle-configuration technology, a workshop and a customer café lounge.
Where Porsche Centre Perth moved
The dealership left its long-time western suburbs home in Nedlands and opened at Scarborough Beach Road in Osborne Park. PerthNow reported that the new store had opened on the Wednesday before its 23 June 2023 article, after more than two decades in Nedlands. PerthNow’s report said the centre was the second Destination Porsche to open in Australia.
What the new showroom included
The Osborne Park centre was designed to give customers more than a conventional showroom visit. Features reported at the time included:
- Themed consultation rooms.
- Technology for viewing different vehicle configurations.
- A workshop.
- A café lounge for customers.
The dealership was due to hold its official opening on 22 July 2023, alongside Porsche’s 75th anniversary, according to the report. That was an announced event date in 2023, not confirmation of any later operating or event status.

What was reported about the former Nedlands site
The former Chellingworth Motors property was identified as 97–105 Stirling Highway. PerthNow reported that Gurner was preparing revised plans for a three-tower apartment development there. Plans released in February 2023 proposed towers of 22, 18 and 24 storeys, with 332 apartments; the report said State Planners had not yet considered them.

- A $320 million proposal by Grange Development and Costa Property for 231 apartments was approved by a Joint Development Assessment Panel in 2021. The middle tower was one storey shorter than in the later revised plans.
- A later 2021 attempt to add four storeys to the middle tower and 137 additional rooms was refused by the panel.
What the dealer said about the move
PerthNow identified Sam Hodges as Porsche Centre Perth’s principal dealer. Hodges said the dealership had been established for more than 20 years and had a supportive local community. He described the Osborne Park location as a new home and central Porsche hub in comments tied to the planned 2023 opening. His statement that it aimed to exceed expectations was promotional language, not an independently measured assessment of the centre.
