Peugeot has announced a 2026 comeback collection of electric-assist and non-assisted bicycles, but it has not yet named the individual bikes or published their specifications or prices. The range is planned to cover road, gravel, mountain, city and long-distance riding, with production scheduled to start in October 2026 and sales planned for late 2026 or early 2027, depending on model.
What is in Peugeot’s new electric bike lineup?
The June 4, 2026 announcement describes a broad collection, not a model-by-model launch: it includes both electric-assist and non-assisted bicycles for five kinds of riding. Peugeot says the range is to be unveiled at the 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit during the June 10–14 event. The release does not identify the individual 2026 models.
- City: bicycles intended for urban riding.
- Road: bicycles for road riding.
- Gravel: bicycles for mixed-surface gravel riding.
- Mountain: bicycles for mountain biking.
- Long-distance: bicycles intended for longer rides or travel.
Those categories indicate intended use, not specific equipment. Peugeot has not published 2026 model names, motor or battery details, claimed range, weight, frame options, or included accessories in the announcement. It also does not give prices or country-by-country availability. Peugeot’s announcement therefore is not enough to choose a particular bike or compare specifications.
When will the new Peugeot e-bikes go on sale?
Series production is scheduled to begin in October 2026. Peugeot says sales are planned for late 2026 or early 2027, depending on the model, through Rebirth Group’s Velo & Oxygen and Ovelo networks. These are announced plans; they do not establish that a particular bike is currently available, or when it will reach a particular country.

Who is making the new Peugeot bikes?
Rebirth Group is leading the collection’s design and licensed production. The group owns Re-Cycles France in Romilly-sur-Seine, which Peugeot’s release describes as its historic factory. Michelin is the named tire supplier. The release does not identify tire models or other component suppliers, so no further component specification can be attributed to the new collection.
How does the 2026 collection relate to older Peugeot e-bikes?
Peugeot’s current electric catalog includes older categories and models such as the eC01, eT01, eM02 and eR02, but their presence in the catalog does not establish that they are part of the 2026 comeback collection. For example, Peugeot’s eM02 FS PowerTube page lists a Bosch Performance CX motor, 500 Wh battery, front and rear suspension, 27.5-inch-plus wheels and claimed range up to 125 km. Those are details for that legacy bike only—not specifications for a new 2026 model.

Likewise, Peugeot’s 2023 announcement described a separate plan for connected digital-city, longtail-cargo and front-load-cargo bikes, with Beweel named as designer and manufacturer for those categories. That earlier plan and its app functions do not confirm what is included in the 2026 collection. The announcement cited 5.5 million electrically assisted bicycles sold in Europe in 2022 and 8.6% annual growth; those figures were historical statistics quoted in 2023, not a current market estimate or a forecast for Peugeot’s new range. The 2023 announcement provides that separate context.

For the intended riding category, compare the eventual model’s price, motor, battery capacity, claimed range and the conditions behind that claim, weight, frame options, included equipment, warranty, service access and availability in your country. None of those model-level values is established for the announced 2026 collection. Avoid treating an older Peugeot bike’s specifications as a substitute.
