These are dated October 1 rates, not verified prices for today: official pages list later notices through October 7, but their rate figures are not available in the accessible pages.
How much did petrol and diesel prices decrease?
APP reported the following revised rates in 2026, citing a Petroleum Division notification. Both changes took effect on October 1.

Are these Pakistan’s petrol and diesel prices today?
Not necessarily. The October 1 figures are not confirmed as the latest rates. OGRA’s official price-publications portal lists October 3 and October 6 entries, while the Petroleum Division’s news page lists notices through October 7. The accessible notice pages reviewed here do not expose the later petrol and diesel figures, so a price or change after October 1 cannot be stated reliably.

For today’s rate, check the newest official notice and its effective date rather than relying on the October 1 figures:
- OGRA Price Publications lists price-publication entries, including the later October 3 and October 6 entries.
- Petroleum Division Latest News lists notices, including one dated October 7.
- The Petroleum Division’s notice titled “Prices of Petroleum Products on 7th October, 2026” does not show rate figures in its accessible text.
What was given as the reason for the October 1 adjustment?
APP said the rates were revised on the basis of ex-depot prices determined by OGRA. It reported that the Petroleum Division attributed the adjustment to international-market developments, including changes in Platts rates, premiums and related costs; international prices and import costs influence domestic petroleum rates. The report does not establish that global prices had entered a sustained decline or provide enough detail to reconstruct the full calculation.

What fuel-subsidy news is separate from this price cut?
In a separate report published October 6, 2026, the Associated Press said the government had provided fuel subsidies to more than 9 million low-income people amid rising energy prices. Information Technology Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja described the program as a nationwide, technology-based targeted subsidy and said, “We have ensured the process remains seamless and agile for citizens.” AP reported that groups included motorcycle riders, rickshaw operators and owners of small cars.
That report does not establish current individual eligibility, subsidy amounts, enrollment steps or whether applications are open. It should not be treated as an application guide or as a change to the October 1 fuel rates. Associated Press coverage of the subsidy program.
