The PENDER ebikelifter combines a roof carrier with a lifting aid, but it does not load a bike by itself: you place the bicycle in its cradle and raise it high enough to reach the roof. The manufacturer’s published specifications list a maximum bike weight of 30 kg, with fit also depending on wheelbase, tire width, frame height, and roof-bar dimensions. Pender’s technical page does not state a measured loading time, so “in seconds” should be treated as promotional framing, not a verified performance claim.
How the PENDER ebikelifter works
Pender describes the ebikelifter as a roof carrier and lifting aid for bicycles, e-bikes, and pedelecs. The bicycle sits in a receiving cradle held by a clamping support tube. To load it, the operator extends the telescopic arm and turns the safety lever to release the lifting power; after placing the bike on the roof, the arm is pushed back in for travel. The manufacturer says the arm keeps distance between the bicycle and vehicle while raising or lowering it. See Pender’s product details for its description.
This arrangement reduces the need to lift a bicycle directly from the ground onto the roof, but it does not eliminate handling: the user still has to position the bike in the cradle and raise it enough to reach the carrier. Pender estimates that the required lift before the bicycle can be placed in the holder is about 10–20 cm for a car, 20–40 cm for an SUV, and 40–60 cm for a transporter; these are manufacturer estimates and vary with the vehicle.
The product is primarily designed for carrying bikes on a car roof. Pender asks customers to contact the company before using it on a trailer, transport box, or rear carrier.

Will it fit your bike and roof rack?
Weight is only one part of compatibility. Pender’s published figures span its product detail page and homepage; check the limits against your actual bicycle and crossbars before ordering.

“Standard roof rack” is not enough to establish compatibility. Measure the crossbars and consult the vehicle and rack instructions, including their load limits. The base roof bars or rack are vehicle-specific and are not included, as stated on the official store listing.

What equipment and carrying weight should you plan for?
You need a compatible, separately purchased vehicle-specific roof rack. The store lists the part lifted onto the roof at about 8 kg. Total product weight is inconsistent across Pender’s own pages: its English product details say about 12 kg with accessories, while the store lists about 13 kg. Treat those as differing manufacturer-published figures rather than assuming one is definitive.
The store gives overall dimensions of 50 cm wide × 40 cm high × 138 cm long. Pender identifies aluminum and stainless steel as materials. Review the current operating and pre-assembly instructions, which also include base-carrier and lifting-mechanism dimension plans, for installation and operation requirements; do not infer a setup procedure from the marketing description alone.

What safety evidence does Pender publish?
Pender lists a test to DIN 79008-1:2016-05 section 6.4 by velotech.de GmbH, report P-2300400-1 dated 8 December 2023. It also lists a DEKRA Automobil GmbH test based on DIN 75302:2019-06, report 202254565 dated 4 August 2022. These are manufacturer-reported test references; the product page does not provide the full reports or their findings. They should not be read as a general guarantee of safety or as confirmation that a particular vehicle, rack, or bicycle combination is suitable.

When accessed in 2026, Pender’s official store listed the ebikelifter at €895 including EU taxes and marked it “Sold out.” Price and stock can change, so check the live store listing before making a purchase decision.

- Measure roof-bar width and thickness, and check your vehicle and rack load instructions.
- Allow for the separate roof rack and the device’s listed weight when checking the roof system’s limits.
