The Parmigiani Bugatti Super Sport is unusual because it turns the time display perpendicular to the direction of a conventional watch dial. Bugatti says the design was inspired by the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse. The best-documented version, a 2013 rose gold edition, pairs that unconventional display with a hand-wound, 10-day movement and a limited run of 30 pieces.
How the Super Sport relates to the Veyron
Parmigiani Fleurier became Bugatti’s official licensing partner in 2004. Bugatti announced the partnership’s end in 2019, naming the Super Sport among the collaboration’s notable watches and identifying the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse as its inspiration. Bugatti’s 18 March 2019 announcement also described the watch’s slender profile as evoking an aircraft-wing fuselage.
The Super Sport was not the only distinctive design from the collaboration. Bugatti describes the Type 370 as using a transverse movement design, while the Type 390 was inspired by the Chiron. The Super Sport’s defining idea is different: its time display is perpendicular to the usual viewing direction, and its car inspiration is the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse. Those descriptions come from Bugatti, not from an independent comparison of the watches.
How the Super Sport displays time
Rather than arranging the time display in the conventional orientation, the Super Sport presents it perpendicular to the usual viewing direction. Bugatti called the mechanism a world first in its 2019 partnership announcement. That is Bugatti’s characterization; the available specifications do not establish how easy the display is to read while wearing or moving.

The rose gold model’s listed functions are hours, minutes and a power-reserve indicator. Its arrangement in two planes complements the unusual display, but the manufacturer’s technical description does not provide a wearer-based assessment of legibility.
Rose gold edition: published specifications
Parmigiani’s 2013 release for the rose gold version describes it as a later addition to the line. The first white gold Bugatti Super Sport was unveiled in August 2010 at Pebble Beach, alongside the car that inspired it. The rose gold edition was limited to 30 pieces; that figure applies to this edition, not necessarily to every Super Sport variant.

The release also describes two articulated front lugs intended to support wearer comfort. That is the maker’s design intent, not an independent fit assessment. The listed 10 m water resistance is a specification, not a basis for treating the watch as suitable for swimming.
What can—and cannot—be said about wearing it
The available published details explain the display concept, materials and movement, but do not establish wrist comfort, readability in motion, or firsthand impressions of the finishing. The model’s name and unusual orientation may invite a hands-on verdict, but those experience-based claims should not be inferred from specifications alone.

Bugatti and Parmigiani’s licensing partnership has ended, and the cited model release identifies the rose gold version as a 30-piece limited edition. Current price, inventory, auction results and present-day valuation are not established by the cited sources.
