A new Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato got its first taste of dirt roads and water crossings in an outing reported by TopSpeed in August 2023. The drive put the car’s unusual brief to the test: it is a low-slung V10 supercar with factory changes for loose surfaces, not an all-terrain vehicle proven for every off-road condition.
What the owner reportedly did
TopSpeed reported that Utah Supercar Owner, also identified as Ron, drove his newly delivered Sterrato from the dealership toward nearby dirt roads, then took it across dirt and through water. The article describes the owner as excited by the idea of a Huracán intended to leave pavement. These are descriptions of the outing, not results from an instrumented test; no quantitative measurements of the specific drive were reported.
TopSpeed also described a follow-up customization: Ron discussed a functional camouflage wrap and camping-oriented plans, and a later video showed the completed wrap and Vossen wheels. A roof tent and hunting gun rack were mentioned as plans, not as equipment confirmed to have been installed or used. TopSpeed’s report is secondary coverage of the owner’s videos.
What makes the Sterrato different
Lamborghini developed the Sterrato as an all-terrain-oriented version of the Huracán. Its factory changes include higher ride height, all-terrain tires, and Rally mode, which the company says is optimized for low-grip conditions. The official model material also lists Strada and Sport calibrations. That equipment explains why a dirt-road outing is within the car’s intended use; it does not establish suitability for every trail, deep water, or severe off-road terrain.

Ride height and ground clearance are different figures
Lamborghini’s model page says the Sterrato’s ride height is 44 mm greater than the Huracán EVO’s. Separately, its digital brochure lists maximum ground clearance at 162 mm. The first figure is a comparison with another model; the second is a maximum clearance specification. They describe related but distinct measurements.
Approach, break-over, and suspension
The brochure lists a 10.4-degree approach/departure angle and a 14.7-degree break-over angle, along with magneto-rheological suspension. These are factory specifications, not measurements of Ron’s drive. They provide useful context for the car’s design, but do not tell a driver whether a particular obstacle, slope, or water crossing is safe.

Tires sized for the car
The official brochure specifies Bridgestone Dueler AT002 tires: 235/40 R19 at the front and 285/40 R19 at the rear, on 19-inch rims. These are the documented factory fitments; tire availability and correct replacement fitment should be verified for the specific vehicle and market.
Performance remains supercar performance
Lamborghini lists a 5,204 cm³ V10 producing 610 CV (449 kW) at 8,000 rpm. Its published figures are a 260 km/h (161.5 mph) top speed and 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) in 3.4 seconds. Those are manufacturer specifications, not figures from the owner’s dirt-road outing. The combination of high performance and loose-surface equipment is the point of the Sterrato, but the specifications do not turn a reported drive into proof of all-condition durability.

A planned limited production run
When Lamborghini announced the Sterrato on November 30, 2022, it described a planned limited run of 1,499 units. That was a production plan announced at launch, not a statement of current inventory or remaining availability.

The reported drive offers a vivid example of the Sterrato being used on dirt and through water, consistent with Lamborghini’s low-grip, beyond-asphalt positioning. It is not a controlled capability comparison, and the report provides no measured depth, speed, damage inspection, or other test data. The most defensible conclusion is narrower: this owner took his new Sterrato onto dirt roads and through water, while the car’s published specifications explain the factory features intended to make that kind of use more appropriate than it would be in a conventional Huracán.
