Nissan’s TEKTON-Based Seven-Seat SUV Spied With Radar-Based ADAS

A camouflaged Nissan three-row SUV related to the TEKTON has been spotted testing in India. A 6 October 2026 report by CarWale interprets the test vehicle’s visible hardware as radar-based ADAS and reports 18-inch wheels; TOI Auto reports 225/60-section tyres. These are observations of a prototype, not confirmed production specifications. Nissan’s roadmap had targeted an early-2027 arrival for a seven-seat C-SUV, but the company has not confirmed this vehicle’s final name or a firm launch date.

What the spy reports say about the SUV

CarWale describes the test vehicle as a TEKTON-based three-row SUV and reports radar-based ADAS, 18-inch wheels, front parking sensors, revised bumpers, flared wheel arches, LED light bars, roof rails and a rear wiper/washer. The radar-based ADAS description is the outlet’s interpretation of spy images; Nissan has not published a sensor list or confirmed the system’s functions for this SUV. CarWale also suggests engine carryover, but presents it as likely rather than confirmed. CarWale, 6 October 2026

TOI Auto’s 6 October report gives the test vehicle’s tyre section as 225/60 and describes a longer body. The reports do not establish whether the observed wheels and tyres will be offered on a production model, or whether the size will apply across variants. TOI Auto, 6 October 2026

Is “Nissan Tekton 7 Seater” its official name?

No official production name has been announced in the material available. CarWale calls it a TEKTON-based seven-seat SUV, while Nissan’s roadmap refers to a planned seven-seat C-SUV. “TEKTON-based three-row SUV” is therefore a useful description, not a confirmed model name. When could it launch in India?

Nissan’s roadmap placed a seven-seat C-SUV in early 2027, but that is a company plan rather than a guaranteed date. TOI Auto’s report expects the vehicle in the second quarter of 2027; that is media-reported timing, not an official revised launch date. Nissan has not announced a firm date for this specific test vehicle. Nissan India roadmap TOI Auto

What the five-seat TEKTON can—and cannot—tell buyers

Nissan launched a separate five-seat TEKTON in India on 9 July 2026. The company lists turbocharged T160 and T280 variants, with output of up to 163 PS and 280 Nm; the T280 is offered with a six-speed wet-clutch DCT and e-shifter. Nissan also lists six airbags as standard, more than 40 standard safety features, a monocoque made with 62% high-strength steel and 17+ ADAS features for that model. These specifications describe the launched five-seat TEKTON and do not confirm equipment or safety performance for the three-row SUV. Nissan’s TEKTON launch announcement Nissan TEKTON model page

  • RED LIGHT AND SPEED CAMERA ALERTS - Preloaded Red Light and Speed Camera locations with Free Database and Firmware updates ensures your detector will never be out of date.
  • MULTI-COLOR OLED DISPLAY - is easy-to-Read and allows for more useful information to be displayed at once. This improves your overall situational awareness.

Nissan’s current TEKTON page lists R18 alloy wheels and notes that equipment may change and vary by variant. That information is also specific to the five-seat model; it does not verify the prototype’s eventual wheel or tyre fitment. No final engine, transmission, variant list, price, production tyre size or model-specific ADAS package has been announced for the planned three-row SUV.

ELSNU Car Parking Sensors Kit Reverse Radar parktronic System Auto Electronics Vehicle Back Assistant Reverse 8 Sensor (Black)
  • When the product is working, the sensor emits ultrasonic waves. When encountering an obstacle, the ultrasonic waves are reflected. The sensor receives the reflected signal and transmits it to the control box. Through calculation, the control box obtains the distance between the vehicle and the obstacle, and reminds the driver to pay attention through the display and sound, etc., to avoid danger. It is a good helper for us to drive the car!
  • 1: When reversing, activate the rear 4 sensors and the front 2 sensors to detect and alarm. During normal driving, when braking, the 4 sensors in front of the car are activated to assist the driver to safely pass through narrow passages. When you release the brake, the parking sensor will work for about 15 seconds before stopping.
  • 2: The product alerts the driver through sound, numbers, and light bars at the same time.
  • 3: Probe behind the car to prevent collision, probe in front of the car to prevent rubbing.
  • 4: On the display, there are 8 light bars representing each sensor, allowing the driver to distinguish the orientation of obstacles.

Cobra RAD 350 Laser Radar Detector, Long Range, False Alert Filter, Black
  • Fewer False Alerts with Cobra's Patented Technology: The IVT Filter TM system reduces false alerts from sources like collision avoidance systems so you hear only what you need to, and nothing else.
  • Detects Signals From Both Front & Rear: With Cobra’s advanced laser eye sensor, you are protected from police scanning in front or behind you. Detects all radar signals (X, K and Ka bands with signal strength indication), laser and VG-2 signals
  • Audible Signal Strength Levels: Unique tones provide signal strength and band identification so you can keep your eyes on the road and still identify what type of alert is detected.
  • 7-Segment Color Display: High quality display features band identification icons and numeric signal strength meter for an accurate and informed drive
  • Instant-On Ready: Quickly detects radar guns so you have fast speed monitoring capabilities ready to go at all times

What to verify before treating the reports as specifications

  • ADAS: Wait for Nissan to identify the sensors, functions and variant availability. A visible radar interpretation does not establish what driver-assistance features will reach production.
  • Tyres and wheels: Treat 18-inch wheels and 225/60 tyres as reported test-vehicle details, not confirmed retail fitment. The reports do not establish compatibility for any future production variant.
  • Seating and space: Nissan’s roadmap confirms a planned seven-seat C-SUV, but final seating layout and usable third-row space have not been specified.
  • Safety: The five-seat TEKTON’s published safety equipment is not evidence of the three-row vehicle’s equipment or crash-test results.
  • Market position: CarWale names the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Kia Carens Clavis as likely rivals. That is the outlet’s segment framing, not confirmed Nissan positioning.
